---Interesting that I misread the title TWICE to say, "Bush Admin Release 48K Boxes of Saddam Democrats".
Good indicator of the Democrats' status in my mind. ---

It's a typo - it should read "48K BOXERS of Saddam Documents" (most of which belong to Sandy Burglar) :-0

This ain't no Friday evening, bury 'em doc dump. This is splashed in Prime Time, which means that there just might be a "there" there.

Bush is clearly a patient man (a little too patient at times IMHO), but I suspect that he finally just got sicked and tired of the worthless goldbricking anonymous desk jockeys out of Langley and their media friends putting the knife in his back over and over and over again. A man can only take so much.

Hi, Dolphy. We had been intending an activism thread to push for the release of Saddam's tapes, but we don't need to do that now. It will be interesting to see the media avoid this story, but The Weekly Standard will stay on it and we can ensure we e-mail those articles around.

You could put that on Burma Shave signs:

Bush lied
People died
Blew up levees
Halliburton

Thanks, Peach. This looks like like yet another issue where we will have to work to get the news.

Just don't let Kerry's people or SeeBS in there. Could end up with several Documents in Times New Roman.

Well, my impression is that Bush effectively had to cojole Negoponte into action on this...it was not announced until the article was published.

Not unlike you to miss a point.

"Well would you lookey here" is a point?

Your previous point seemed to be that if Negroponte didn't want to release the documents, he, being such a good 'conservative hero', had very good reason. Although, based on his own words, his reasoning seemed to vacillate between 'they only provide historical reference' and 'they contain actionable intelligence'. Seems odd to me that he didn't release them until President Bush 'requested' that it be done. So...exactly what is your point in 'lookey here'?

I summarized on that thread (to another poster)this way;

Seems odd to me that he didn't release them until President Bush 'requested' that it be done.

Negroponte works for the President. Negroponte was appointed by the President. Negroponte was told by the President to release the documents. Negroponte said okay.

I don't think that it would necessarily be a good thing for Negroponte to release the docs/tapes without the President wanting them released and without the President telling him to release them.

I don't see what the caper is.
