Calling all kittens: Current account deficit grows...as well as pessimistic prognositcations

The current account deficit widened to its highest level ever in January.

As the deficits grows, due to loose monetary policy and overspending, so do the worries about the US dollar and economy. Here's an interesting link to a negative economic assesment from respected Swiss economist Dr. Marc Faber ("Dr. Doom"). Dr. Faber is famous for correctly predicting asset bubbles, such as the that led to the 'Asian Flu'.

So long King Pouty. You may be king over on DU but over here you are just a peon like the rest of us. Too bad you think your opinion reigns supreme but try posting on moveon.org. I’m sure they will be more receptive to your opinions.

Amen.

FWIW, I have never understood the reasoning behind the opus. When I find myself at a party--or any other circumstance in which I am voluntarily present--and said party is not to my liking, I do not pause at the door and kvetch to those present before making my exit. I thank the host graciously, privately, and off I go.

All opuses are inherently tacky. I have no use for them.

So, you think that Free Republic is a "cesspool". Yet, you've spent almost 4 years posting here and participating in this "cesspool". That says a lot more about YOU more than it says about anyone else here.

The tone here has changed lately. I completely understand King Prout's departure.

That's all I'm going to say on the matter.

DITTO what DC said, KP.

I can't tell you the number of times I've considered doing the exact same thing, but after throwing several empty beer bottles and an empty Crown Royal bottle I felt much better.

There is however the distinct possibility that it was emptying those bottles that made me feel better...

NAW!!!! It was definitely the throwing part...

It's been good exchanging ideas and opinions with you, Bro. See ya on the flip side

Those good folks who remain here need to seriously consider removing themselves from this cesspool.

This self-proclaimed "king" calls FR a cesspool, but if I posted just a small sample of the hate-filled, filthy trash on the obscure site he calls home, it would make Rosie O'Donnell and Bill Maher sound like a combination of Pat Boone and President Reagan in comparison.

Meanwhile at near full employment jobs go begging. The Dow is above record highs and is climbing, The other major averages are climbing.

in short, the American economy is booming.
