Allen, Coburn, Cornyn, Kyl would make GREAT Majority Leaders...and I would add Jeff Sessions...to the list.

Carper is okaying some restrictions on abortion.
Boy have the Democrats learned a lesson. Even Feinstein keeps saying saying states have the right to impose some restrictions.

So THAT's why Reid was delaying...he was waiting for Kerry's move.

It's unreal.
The liberals are saying they are voting against Alito and want someone who will be for them the very thing they are accusing him of being.
I don't know if I wrote what I meant correctly or not, it's too twisted to think about.
Their twisted hypocrisy is mind boggling.

I read that FRist and Reid are meeting later..an annoucement will come today, on the vote, because senators have to make travel plans..do you think it will come on MOnday. Yeah - that's the signal I'm getting. Vote on Monday. I think the negotiations are between moving to the vote under UC, or moving to the vote via cloture. Those are Reid's two options, and Frist would prefer the UC route.

U.S. Democratic Senator from Boston, John Kerry, left, shares a word with Secretary General of the Arab League Amre Moussa prior to a plenary entitled 'Muslim Societies in the Modern World' at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Thursday Jan. 26, 2006. The second day of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting promised a blend of celebrity and brass tacks talk of the issues facing the global community, ranging from security against terror to advancing human rights and the struggle against poverty and disease. Peach,
Who is the third Democrat who has expressed support for Alito? I know Ben Nelson of Iowa has come out and now Byrd of WV. ABC radio news said there are three, but I didn't catch who the third one is.

If she doesn't show up for the vote...I hope that Spencer guy that is running against her in NY...jumps on it...and uses it to show that she will bleat, screech, and condemn others...
BUT, she won't put her ample butt on the line when it counts.

I don't really understand then why Spector called for a vote if they are out of town. He called for an agreement to set a time certain for taking the vote. The time certain that he offered was Monday 5:30 PM. Reid objected, but indicated he may be open to the same agreement, if it is offered later today.

Dick Durbin would call it, "The Crushing Hand of Fate."
I'm still giggling over that comment. Too funny. :-)
