Good ole Sheets. He doesn't want a filibuster because it exposes him. Plus he will vote yes or he will lose in November.

Lots of talk going on - on left wing blogs / sites that Bryd is supporting Alito? Can anyone confirm this?

I remember weeks ago Byrd adamantly saying there would be no filibuster of Alito. I actually expect Byrd to vote FOR Alito. He is running for election this year in WV. So desperate is he that he called for an MLK Day parade or something other like that.

Byrd IS interesting but too long winded for most of us. He knows darn well that a filibuster is for legislative matters only...
