I watched Kerry and Hatch last night on C-Span. Kerry was, as ever, vacuous. Hatch was good but too long-winded and too soft in how he delivered his rebuffs to his lying and/or deliberately misleading Democratic colleagues.

He did ping Kennedy and Schumer plenty of times - but without the emphasis that would have produced some telling sound bites.

The way Frist now appears to have structured the debate simply guarantees that we will have more hot air.

Oh, she is SO wrong on the polls !!!

Not only that, but is she suggesting that we should be selecting judges who will issue rulings based on the results of polls?

Amen! :-)

Finally found you guys this morning.

DiFi is soooooooooooooo hypocritical--talking about all
the laws that have CHANGED for the better the way Americans think about basic civil rights over our history, yet there she stands, boldly claiming that ROE MUST NOT CHANGE!!!!!

Status quo, thy name is DiFi. Who is feeding her this false info that MOST Americans don't want change? I hate when people like this are bold faced liars. >:-(

Feinstein is getting "with the times." She admits states have some rights to regulate abortions.

So...she thinks it's "okay" for her to get down to specifics, but she doesn't like Alito to be specific in applying the law.

Hypocrite.

We've heard from almost every democrat that the Supreme Court protects us from excessive Executive Power, but when the Court dares to pare back excessive Legislative Power, well that just can't be allowed.
Very nice summary of what is going on.

Right, DiFi is worried about the Congress losing it's Liberty to legislate and regulate and control. We conservatives are worried about the people losing their Liberty to live free on their own land. Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, etc. I can't fill in a swamp (that's right, it's a swamp not a wetland) on my land if some worthless insect happens to live there. Farms can't have water because some fish might die and a farmer can't grow a crop beyond the government's "allotment". We can't cut down forests because birds might not have the sense enought to fly somewhere else. And on, and on. This is what we're fighting.

Okay, DiFi, we get it. LIFE revolves around abortion.
(But wait...abortion is not about life, but about DEATH!)

Do these people NOT see how stuck on stupid they are?????

The Dems had their candidate. They didn't defend her. Why should the President give them another candidate on their list they won't defend? Especially when it hurts him with his base?

Di, when your party wins the Presidency you'll probably be able to have some imput into the selection process. I wager next time you'll be smarter then to allow an aged candidate in poor health to be confirmed to the court. Hatch sort of played you with that one. ;-) The fact your base didn't challenge Clinton is their fault as well. Meanwhile our side demands quality and relative youth, not just someone that is a guarenteed Liberal vote and, so, will not have a living breathing embarrassment on the Court for 25-35 years as Dems live with Ginsberg everyday.

Di is upset by a lot. She's upset they lost the Presidency. She's upset they are close to losing the Court. She's upset she's no longer in the majority. She's upset she isn't in the "mainstream". She's upset....her party arrogantly assumed they could hold the courts forever and let their guard down. I mean, honestly, what else other than a mark of extreme arrogance would allow the confirmation of Ginsberg to receive approval from their end? Instead of a 30 year on Court candidate in perfect health? They pick Ginsberg! A woman not even among the best minds available. Don't think that isn't a source of irritation beneath the surface as well.

I am in hopes that the Kerry , Kennedy and a few other pro abortion diatribes before the senate on Alito will be sent to the Vatican so they can have closure on these Catholic pretenders. Let us all see just how serious the Pope
is about abortion and pretenders like Kerry and Kennedy.
They present themselves as Catholics and vebally abuse Judge Alito on abortion. Excommunicate them and be done with it.

Feinstein says the world is a very different place than it was 10 years ago, which no one can argue.

Such a statement completely glosses over the real fact that the World Trade Center was attacked in 1993, and neither her Party, which was in control then, nor her Party's Leader reacted, nor did they do what was necessary to detect terrorists, nor to defend us against their numerous subsequent attacks on America!

Had President Clinton not allowed Jamie Gorelick to erect the "wall" we've heard much about, preventing the sharing of intelligence information, had Al Gore been "clued in" when he headed the Commission on Airlines Safety, or had President Clinton been attentive enough to suspect that perhaps terrorists were living among us all those years and communicating back and forth with their counterparts overseas, and had he taken seriously his duty to defend American citizens from attacks and authorized monitoring of those conversations, perhaps 3,000 people might not have had to die.

Feinstein and her Party failed us when they had the opportunity to defend us. When will they be called to account for that?
