Debate continues in the Senate today on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. At present no time has been announced for a final vote. Stop by and discuss.
Nickelodeon
LOL. I want the real vote to be held soon and we can get rid of this ridiculous graphic on C-Span.
LOL .. One just did!

WASHINGTON
Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito picked up his second Democratic supporter on Thursday, with Tim Johnson of South Dakota announcing he will vote for the conservative judge to become the nation's 110th justice.
Johnson joins fellow Democrat Ben Nelson of Nebraska as the only members of their party to announce Senate support for the conservative judge. Fifty-one Republicans are supporting Alito, guaranteeing his confirmation as the replacement for retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, who throughout her years on the high court often has been a key fifth vote on contentious social issues including abortion, affirmative action and the death penalty.

woo hoo!
LOL. :-)
My 5 year old just showed up (she was watching Sprout in the other room) and wants to play games on her computer. I told her she'd have to mute the sound so I could hear the speakers!!
Of course, I'll send her back to the other room when those scary people (dems/libs) come back on--I've got to protect her from that kind of garbage.
Hmmmm, chamber music now on C-Span. Wonder if the dems/libs will be trying to dance around Judge Alito's confirmation any more, or will they give in gracefully? ;-)
The writing's on the wall for them. I'd have more respect for them if they'd just READ it and move on.
Only postponing the inevitable. Sad lot of folks aren't they?
Another democrat (Tim Johnson) voting for Alito!
Being from South Dakota, Johnson had no choice.
C-SPAN added Johnson (D) to the Y column.
They just announced that another Democrat has turned and is voting for Alito--my daughter started talking so I didn't hear who it was!!
Thank you, God. Speak to some more people and let them vote with their hearts, and NOT their party line!!
Congratulations! You had it before C-SPAN announced it.
Now we've moved on to Lazy Town. That show is just creepy to me, but the kids love it.
My 5 year old son (my youngest) is finally past Dora. An ice pick in the ear is a more pleasant experience. You have my sympathy.
EXCELLENT! I'm leaving in a minute but will check for hopefully more good news when I return!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know what's wrong with Sen Ten Stevens? I know he got very angry at some senators about a month ago, but why is he stalling on this Alito vote? Is he mad at the President?
Perhaps C-SPAN lurks here. LOL
Guess we can chalk Johnson's change of heart to the Dashel effect. Now if the good people of Nevada made it a twofer and fire the corrupt Harry Reid, MAYBE reality will sink into the deluded heads of the Democrat Senators. Losing two leaders in a row would be an object lesson even THEY cannot ignore.
