WOW! That was PROFOUND!

did you see that...?

He read the remarks from that other judge...and asked.."Were you aware that [he] said those things about you?"

Alito's face was so great.. you could tell he was touched.... it was awesome....showed him so human and just like us....

after this grilling- he is reminded of what his colleagues thing of him.... and you could see it in his face and his eyes.... he was touched...

humbled...

what a great moment to see after watching these blowhards rake him all day....

I am so glad I got to see him have that moment.....

"Charles Schumer is the only Senator so flatulent in speech and thought and so puerile in intent that he was instantly rendered a junior senator by having a Clinton elected to serve in tandem with him."

LMAO! I love it!

I'm not so sure.

He kept harping on the fact that Alito doesn't believe in a "constitutional right to choice."

In other words, a Constitutional right to abort unborn children, which I'm pretty sure most Americans don't agree with either.

Charles Schumer doesn't play well West of the Hudson.

Ok, I will rest easier.

I like Alito and think he is what we need.

I thought that Alito was being thoughtful, which is what judges should do. And BTW, the poor man is probably exhausted

I'm exhausted, and all I'm doing is listening and being critical ;-)

That he didn't come up with Quirin, Milligan and other cases surprized me - but he did come back later with other cases on the general subject. I have no concern about his performance in this arena, BTW. He dealt well with the more narrow topic of surveillance earlier in the day. Graham was focused on the detention aspect of war powers.

I thought he did a good job of not looking smug. I'm sure he was touched but he didn't look conceited or anything.

yeah but what will they have?

A bunch of clips of democrats doing the usual... bitching and moaning and crying... saying something sucks... outraged and something or another.

All but the hard core dems are so desensatized to all that by now, and once in a while we get lucky and its also slightly amusing.

Chuck is dressing up high school cliquish behavior as intellectual purity and hoping no one will notice.

@@@@@

Chuck thought that his high school level gotcha questions were going to be real zingers. What does he think the nominee has been doing for a living for the past 15 years, but listening critically to arguing lawyers, and making up his own mind, with judicial reasoning behind his decisions? Chuckie is not anywhere near the level of the intellect of Judge Alito.

Frankly Schumer was a real disappointment - I was hoping for more entertainment - he was not at all at his best

His line of attack was too tangential. Bork? Thomas? LOL!!
