That's an understatement.
Schumer doesn't rise to the level of "jackass," in my opinion.
How anyone could work with that schmuck without being driven off the deep end is beyond me.

Thank God Chuckie is off.

In my opinion, he was carefully avoiding any unintentional traps that could come back to hurt him later. Alito? Yeah - I just imagine there are generic answers that illustrate a certain degree of knowledge and competence with the principles involved. I don't think there is any harm in reinforcing that this war is unlike past wars, and that "we" have a need for some new detail applications of Constitutional principles as a result.
I don't think Alito hurt his confirmation, I just picture better answers, even if generic answers, to a darn hot and timely topic.

none of this will make it on the news, only Upchuckies and Feind-gold's "gotcha's" that really weren't gotcha's will make it.
Both of those ass-clowns will be on EVERY show tomorrow morning talking about how proud they are of their tough questions.

Plessy had to do with the "separate but equal" doctrine enacted after the Civil War, which was later struck down.

Chuckie was reading his concluding statements where he cited the reasons why he was very concerned about the answers that Alito gave.
Funny how he had that all written out before he even asked the questions.

Do ya think chucke knows he's being made fun of? Cornyn spanked him pretty good since Chucky said on Meet the Depressed he's going to get Alioto on non response. And Biden said he's been very responsive LOL.
I hope everyone keeps throwing Plessy in their faces as an example of stare decisis.

Charles Schumer is the only Senator so flatulent in speech and thought and so puerile in intent that he was instantly rendered a junior senator by having a Clinton elected to serve in tandem with him.

Senator Cornyn:I like my charts better than his...
LMAO.
Cornyn's on a roll!
Schumer was quite skillful in accomplishing what he wanted to do, which was put the picture of Alito saying back when that there was no constitutional right to abortion in a frame of other judges writing that they thought Alito was not following precedent. It is a good way to get folks who are pro Roe more nervous about Alito. The only misstep is that in the long list of 3rd circuit cases, Schumer accidently tossed out a life raft to Alito by adding one where apparently Alito cited a SCOTUS case, rather than ignoring 3rd circuit precedent per se, and was in the majority. Alito grabbed the raft, and hugged it. Schumer was probably saying to himself, "I hate when that happens."
The interchange will probably be about as good as it gets from an entertainment perspective.
