ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
There goes Kohl's argument, "What if a provision only impacts ONE person?" Well, Senator Kohl, see O'Connor and her rhetoric on that point. I've read the case, BTW, and ALito explians himself "why" very well. Therefore, I conclude that Kohl either did NOT read the case, or he did and thought he could score a point with his assinine question.
Kohl voted for Roberts in committee.. I gues this means the Dems are closing ranks on Alito
I believe his father started the department stores.
Doesn't he also own the Milwaukee Bucks?
yup , MeeeeeCain has too much baggage and the health issue
>>Apparently the Islamic terrorist swing vote is pivotal in Vermont politics.<<
LOL!
he's one of those Kohl's? Wow I didn't know that
My eyes!!!
Kohl's one-man-one vote song and dance. If the Constitution is indeed "living," why not take Kohl's Wisconsin seat and give it to a bigger state , say Texas?
Alito is lying through his teeth.
That I don't know.
Sorry.
didn't mean you personally, but the employer.
We have been having a "discussion" about this...and I have said that I would be flattered and would LOVE to know that I was hired because of my looks...BUT,
I think we have all determined that looks would NOT be the "BASIS"...but, that we would otherwise be qualified for a job...I think anyone would feel good to know their looks also played a part.
Surely, you wouldn't NOT want to do business with a pretty woman if she was also qualified in the other ways for the job, would you?
LOL!!
I suppose you have to credit him with self-awareness, if nothing else.
Yes, but what I really got was the.....
"Alito's running away from Bork is starting to tee me off."
Just sounded as if you wished for him to "not run away from Bork" and completely agree with him. That's a fine line to walk in these hearings.
Sad that Alito has to lie through his teeth to get out of committee. Are we really winning the war of ideas if we have to lie to get our way? Just wondering. I'm sure it's pragmatic, but it can't be a good thing.
I thought that was a great point by Limbaugh...and I wish that Alito would ask any of the Senators that bring that up again...why they didn't....LOL
Dolphy mentioned Wall Street. I worked in financial services for nearly 20 years. Dolphy, does your employ have anything to do with financial services (not trying to pry, but if the answer is yes, then I understand completely)
