Groundbreaking Book: Science Shows Man Not an Ape

Posted on 12/21/2005 6:22:46 AM PST by truthfinder9

One of biggest paradigm shifts in origins in recent years is when genetics and morphological studies began to show that Neanderthals and humans weren’t related. Sure, a lot of Darwin Fundies around here don’t know that because they get all of their science from the talking point lists of their Fundamentalist Leaders. So this is probably a big shock too, science is also showing that man is not related to any hominids including apes.

In the groundbreaking book, Who was Adam?, biochemist Fazale Rana examines the scientific research that is overturning Darwinian Fundamentalism. Here, using peer-reviewed research that the Darwin Fundies claim doesn’t exist, Rana shows man is unique and designed.

And he details the latest findings on the fossil record, junk DNA, Neanderthals, human and chimp genetics. There's more science here than most Darwin Fundies have ever read, but this will be the next great paradigm shift.

“The parallels between Genesis and the latest scientific data are profound...” - John A. Bloom, Ph.D., professor of physics, Biola University

On Rana’s previous book, Origins of Life:

“Evolution has just been dealt its deathblow. After reading Origins of Life, it is clear that evolution could not have occurred.” - Richard Smalley, Nobel Laureate, Chemistry, 1996, professor of physics and astronomy, Rice University

Real science by real scientists. According to Darwin Fundies this doesn't exist, but here it is.

Because not all apes evolved.

Well, not quite. Our primate ancestors all evolved, just into different things. Some evolved into humans, others into chimps, bonobos and gorillas. It is wrong to say that a population hasn't evolved -- all are continuously evolving -- just as its wrong to say that apes are any less evolved than we are, because evolution doesn't have a direction, and the real test is whether an organism is fit in the context of its environment.

The problem many humans have is that they think science exists apart from God, Who is the Author of that discipline. And He advises us, in Paul's first letter to Timothy (1 Tim 6:20-21), not to be deceived by what man falsely calls science - which would be those "vain imaginations" (see 1 Corinthians 10:1-6) that man holds to as revealed facts.

Man is not smart enough to declare many of the "truths" we proclaim.

Actually most of the design supporters don't think Earth is "6,000 years old." Read their books, they are not too fond of the Ken Ham's of the world.

Yeah, I know... I figured I keep the answer basic, though.

So, ol' Truthtwister9 either 1) didn't read this paper, 2) didn't understand it.

Didn't read it, didn't understand it, didn't want to read it, didn't want to understand it, wanted to argue, argue argue for nothing. A productive fellow, no doubt.

No....King Kong is a fantasy made for the movies...much like ID and Creationism is a fantasy.

My apelike ancestors were the common ancestors of humans and modern apes.....

But thanks for the complement.

"...believe repeating their mantra over and over will win over actual thinking."

Sigh, I'm not much better really. I keep assuming that if you use evidence and logic, rationality will prevail. Silly me.

I have observed evos to be much more likely to use insults

And I've observed just the opposite. I guess it depends on perspective.

Again, super brain, the newer studies have udpated that study.

Wait a minute, about 5 milliseconds ago you were claiming all those studies "conclusively proved" that Neandertals and humans didn't share a common ancestor...

Care to find me the portions of those studies claiming there's no human-neandertal common ancestor? Or do I have to do your work for you again?

And would you put your hand on a Bible right now and swear that you've ACTUALLY read all the studies you listed in your post yourself?

How can I rebut that which is patently false?

I tried to access the article regarding the noses of neanderthals, and found this summary:

"Anthropologists have long disagreed over whether Neandertals were basically like us or built differently enough to qualify as a separate species. The noses of these heavyset ice age bipeds hold clues to how they lived and breathed, and thus to the hard-driving Neandertal lifestyle, as a half-dozen presentations at the meetings of the Paleoanthropology Society and the American Association of Physical Anthropology this spring in Columbus, Ohio, showed. But because noses don't fossilize, researchers have to rely on models and extrapolation in using noses to answer the species question."

I'm fairly certain the author didn't reach the conclusion there was no relation between neanderthals and man, or it probably would have been included in the summary.

The problem many humans have is that they think science exists apart from God, Who is the Author of that discipline.

He is the Author of science, but he is not a character in it. The problem is that many people -- on both sides of the debate -- have got the mindset that all truth (and Truth) must be provable by science. We need to accept that science has its limitations in what it can explain.

Frankly, it's something that I've only realized in the past year or so.

Are you ten? Can you actually read what I'm posting? You understand "context?" No wonder people don't believe evolution. Give it up and go get a job.

I think we have all made our positions clear on these posts and no one's mind has been changed so all that's left is posting for entertainment purposes. I have observed evos to be much more likely to use insults than creationists

I will agree with that.

If you're going to participate in these discussions, you better have thick skin.

Definitely! I think it's a shame that we bicker and name call with people that, given any other subject, we would be in 99% agreement. It demeans the otherwise intelligent level of conversation here.

"...It is wrong to say that a population hasn't evolved -- all are continuously evolving --..."

"Punctuated evolution" is a theory that lines do have extended periods with very little evolution. I am sort of turned off but this grand theory because I always thought that its claims were obvious and the proponents were self aggrandizing.

>>>If man evolved from apes, why are apes still here? Wouldn't they all be man?>>>

I have brought up this SAME question numerous times and still have no answer.

People want to force science to dispell that there is a God and will cram that square peg into a round hole all day.
