VIDEO: DEATH TO PEACE ACTIVISTS IF DEMANDS NOT MET

Kidnappers Threaten to Kill Iraq Activists

Dec 02 3:52 PM US/Eastern

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Al-Jazeera television broadcast a videotape Friday in which kidnappers of four Christian peace activists threatened to kill their hostages unless all prisoners in U.S. and Iraqi detention centers are released. The kidnappers gave the two governments until Dec. 8 to meet their demands, Al-Jazeera quoted a statement delivered with the tape as saying.

The tape showed what the broadcaster said were two Canadian hostages. An American and a Briton are also being held. All four appeared frightened.

The Canadians were shown eating from plates of what appeared to be Arabic sweets. In a second clip, the British and American hostages were shown to talking to the camera but no audio was transmitted.

The two were calling on the U.S. and British governments to withdraw from Iraq, Al-Jazeera reported, quoting a statement from the kidnappers, who earlier identified themselves as the Swords of Righteousness Brigade

Blessed are the peacemakers.

You're presuming they're peacemakers.

They're not. Peace follows war. Our soldiers are the peacemakers.

These captives are just fools.

[Simple solution. Bush goes on MSM tonight at 8:00 PM sharp. He states that he will lob missles into one of the terrorist supporting nations if any of the Christians looses their life]

If it weren't for the upcoming Iraqi elections, which are temporarily tying down our options for new action, I would completely agree with the above. I assume 50:50 that these "hostages" are staging what is a cynical ploy to make the "50 year old politically independently female" "lose more faith in the war"...which is what the game has been lately.

I am 95% sure that these "Christian" "hostages" would be blaming Bush and squealing with delight if a contractor or GI were being held hostage.

It would be "delicious irony" if the President actually took one of these possibly staged incidents and did what he would have done in the Berlin Crisis (both the ones in 1960 and 1961) or Berlin Airlift (1948, 1949)...treated it like another country was behind it and drew a line in the sand.

President Bush has been violating a major theme for 3 years now: that of NOT treating terrorism as a criminal matter but, rather, just letting our soldiers be a target for Iranian "shaped charge" IEDs. By leaving Iran in place to kill Americans and good Shiites in Iraq, the President is possibly prostrating himself before the world's left wing who have successfully used their nagging over a past event (Iraq liberation) to stop a vitally needed future or present event (Iran liberation).

If the President isn't cynically leaving Iran around long enough for a "looming battle" to take place during 2006 election campaign...then he might consider (after the Iraqi elections) using the taking of "peace activist" hostages as a pretext for finally cleaning out the rest of the Mideast Augean Stables (sic).

[President Bush has been violating a major theme for 3 years now: treating terror in Iraq like it is NOT caused by governments]

Of course, if Washington and NY already have Iranian nukes placed and ready to explode...then the current situation in Iraq is more explainable. As with Vietnam, where American hands were firmly handcuffed behind their backs (and our military could only kick the enemy around)...the strategy with Iraq seems to be that we allow our left wing to nag and cry (all staged with the help of the White House) so the world and the enemy can believe that it is this nagging and crying that is stopping us from simply going into Tehran and removing the enemy leaders...rather than the real nuclear threat.

A concept not often discussed on the Blogosphere: The anti-war left as a desired "safe facing" mechanism for an administration saddled with a credible nuclear threat in the homeland.

Also and adjunct to what I said above: it is possible that the very reason why only peace activists have been kidnapped in the past three years...was not only their "availability" to the enemy...but the knowledge among the terror elite that a kidnapped American soldier would elicit a line in the sand type reaction by the President against Syria or Iran or a member of the Saudi family who would be then be in danger of "dying of thirst in the desert".

[stopping us from simply going into Tehran and removing the enemy leaders...rather than the real nuclear threat.]

Thus, if we are fighting this war in the face of a credible and immediate nuclear threat to Washington or NY, our only option would be to allow a massive wave of left-wing pacifism to engulf the world like a tsunami. The wave would simply wash over the US Republican base (causing us to lose the female independents who put Bush over the top in 2004 but not hurting a solid 43% reality-based public) but it could do some serious erosion to the dictatorships in the Middle East that were using the nuke threat to prevent us from overthrowing them in the traditional fashion.

This is what I call my "backwash" theory...and it is supported by the President's continued inaction toward Iran.

A problem with this theory is that I fear that the anti-Bush liberal tsunami has only been making liberal Iranian freedom-lovers LESS INTERESTED in overthrowing their regime now that they "understand" that it would be better for them to personally suffer economically and in a new Cold War with the USA...then to let the ideologically hated Bush liberate them.

I should actually start a thread asking this question: Has our left wing in the past 3 years made the Iranian people LESS likely to want freedom from their hardliners due to the illogical religious imperative of international leftism: that of wanting to SPITE American conservatives more than better your own life?

At the risk of putting things too simply, your theory smacks of a semi-load of BS. I've smacked plenty. A clue might be the ridiculous statement that only peace activists have been kidnappped in the last three years.

[I cannot imagine how horrible this must be for the families. I hope they had this horrible possibility in mind but probably not, things had been better lately. The Bible speaks of many horrible beheadings in the last days. I hope they will not suffer the terrible fate of others. Our prayers will be with them.]

The compassion I have, as a Christian stirs emotion in my heart. But, hark! It is my brain telling my heart to be suspicious. I do indeed hope for the best for the souls of the individuals. If indeed it is their own blind ignorance and subversion that has brought them to this trecherous point, then ooops!

But do not discount that the the "Peace Activists" could be in colusion with the terrorists or at least planned this end. As sick as it may be, and as rumors have it, they may have gone to Iraq looking for exactly this situation.

Worse, they may be intent on becoming Martyrs for the "Peace" cause. In which case, this Christian observes arrogant pride by virtue of suicide and says to hell with their souls. "Damn them" if you will.

Jesus never said all go to heaven. He implied quite the opposite by indicating the behaviour and acts which warranted such reward. Heratics and Hypocrates were not among those he invited to his Kingdom by his own words. So only carefully should you consider what I have wrote before the shock sets in.

While it is a terrible thing, sometimes it is satisfying for liberals and communists who hate America to smack up against reality. Unfortunately, they will only learn their lesson while their heads drop from shoulders to floor.

I'm not sure whether the old adage about a conservative being "a liberal who has been mugged" or the Darwin awards are more applicable here.

All four appeared frightened.

I can't understand why.

Aren't these peoples captors the same people these activists are working to defend?

"This is telling: There was not a PEEP from these people when the rape rooms and shredders were having their way with Saddam's victims."

Actually the were some peeps from Amnesty International and others that the UN Sanctions(not Saddam) against Iraq caused 100,000 children to starve to death annually.

I guess this kidnapping is a hoax and collaborated between the Islamists and the peace activists wanting the coalition troops out. It is a surprise that the kidnapping occured in the area where the Italian anti-America leftist journalist was captured by the kidnappers, probably indicating both set up by these anti-America journalists and activists hiring some Iraqis for a drama.

Wow there are some VERY sick people here. Unbelievable some of the comments in this thread.

I think you're confused - the "sick people" are the bloodthirsty murderers holding the hostages and threatening to saw their heads off with a dull knive on video.

Hmmmmmmmm. Let's see. Release all the prisoners or
see the activists killed. Well, I'd hate to see ANYONE
killed. But we can't let the prisoners go.

So, in other words, the Bush administration has drawn no line in the sand as to how Iran and Syra are allowed to behave in Iraq?

Actually the were some peeps from Amnesty International and others that the UN Sanctions(not Saddam) against Iraq caused 100,000 children to starve to death annually.

The moral bankruptcy of the Left can be seen by their own claims.

If it was true that, prior to the Iraq War, 100,000 children were dying annually due to UN sanctions, then why are they not now pointing out that the Iraq War put an end to that horrific number of deaths?

Why does the Left completely ignore the fact that an immediate U.S. pullout will bring about the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Shiites and Kurds when the Sunni Baathists reestablish their despotism over the Shiite and Kurdish majorities?

The sick fact of the matter is that the Left pretends to care about the deaths, real or fabricated, of only those Iraqis whose deaths they can blame on America.

An even sicker fact is that the Left will gleefully accept the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Shiites and Kurds as long as that is the price that must be paid for an American military humiliation.
