My Post Office Experience Today
Posted on 11/28/2005 2:17:49 PM PST by maineman
My daily trip to the USPO was one for the books today. As I was having my packages stamped a Women came along side of me and asked the clerk if they sold any stamps that didn't promote violence. The clerk was miffed, I was pissed, as she cut into my space. The Women said the American Flag stamps represent murder around the World. I suggested she move to Cuba as she will be able to buy several books of Castro stamps. She called me a Bush-Fool, a new one to me. I asked her to tell me exactly how we were killing people around the World...I-R-A-Q was her answer. I told her we were spreading Democracy and asked her to get back in line. As I left she yelled that I was a rightwinger, I told her "MERRY CHRISTMAS". That ticked her off. Thought I'd share.

Well done. I'm proud of people who call a spade a spade. We need more like you!
Merry Christmas to you, too.

Another great answer would have been, "I am sorry, but you are at a United States post office. Are you sure you would want to use the services of this country's government that you detest so much?"

Lemme guess. The prominently displayed and widely advertised stamps featuring toys and Santas are somehow "promoting violence"? Or had she not actually bothered to look at the offerings before asking her "question" in an accusatory manner?

On my upcoming Iraq deployment, I'll be sure to try and help take out a few bad guys...just for her.

My local post office is staffed with all ex-military people. I have an on-line business and we honor shipping out to military via APO/FPO. The boxes are big and very heavy. The postal employees all know where the merchandise is going so treat us and our pain in the butt boxes with great care. I have never heard a complaint about the size or weight or paper work involved from any employee.
Most postal employees are ex-Military. The customer you posted about picked the wrong place to vent.

When people call me a "right-winger" - I usually say GLORY TO GOD! That really ticks them off.
But .. ya did good!! I love it when the lefties are ticked off. I loved that line, "the American flag promotes murder". I didn't know flags could murder .. did you ..??

The leftists are becoming unglued the more they realize they are not relevant and their rhetoric ineffective -the only thing they have control over is themselves -as is typical they destroy whatever it is they control -- LOL
