AgapePress) - An official with a pro-family group reports that a boycott campaign aimed at Target Stores nationwide has succeeded in attracting hundreds of thousands of consumers who say they intend to shop elsewhere during what is traditionally the busiest shopping weekend of the year.
On Friday (Nov. 18) the American Family Association (AFA) launched on online boycott campaign against Target, citing the retailer's decision to ban Salvation Army kettles from their store entrances as well as the use of "Merry Christmas" in their in-store promotions and retail advertising. By the following Monday, almost 300,000 individuals had "signed" an online petition indicating they planned to express their disapproval of that decision by avoiding Target Stores during the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend. At press time, that number had jumped to more than 340,000

Target and Lowe's raise my anger! Banning the Salvation Army and the words "Merry Christmas." I was ROTFLMAO when I read Lowe's was selling "Holiday" trees instead of "Christmas" trees. That's one of the most ridiculous idiotic PC policy that a corporation could make.

Could you make it easier and publish a list of NON-boycotted companies? I'm so confuse.

I'm planning a garage sale next week. Last I heard it isn't on the official boycott list. But just to be sure, I'm having a section for Christmas tennis shoes and another section for Yule power tools.

Thank you for posting this. If they ignore a Christian holiday, Christians should ignore their stores.
And here's a snippet re: Salvation Army:
"When you put money into our Kettles, Expect Change:
The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign enables the Army to provide food, toys and clothing to over 6 million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recovering from all kinds of personal disasters nationwide."

Hmmm, none of those ubiquitous bells being rung constantly, ringing and ringing and ringing. Sounds like a good place to shop to me.

Well, include me out: I am going to continue shopping at Target. It is both cheap and convenient, and one should be saving the gasoline nowadays. Instead, one should be boycotting "made in China" crap.

I usually don't give large contributions to charities. However, because of the current attacks on Christian values, I will be giving large donations to the Boy Scouts and the Salvation Army.

Christmastime Garage sale, eh?
Well, I want the entire Gospel of Matthew subliminally woven through your advertising flyers or I'll be boycotting ya, Mate!
;^)
But if you do see me browsing among your old car parts and broken tools, please feel free to wish me a Merry Christmas!

I'm thinking about not buying much anywhere. When I 1st got married we scrounged for maybe 100 dollars and did fine. Now it can be several 1000 dollars. I've limited it to 500 this year, total.
