I can't boycott Target since I never go there anyway.
Thank you for posting this. If they ignore a Christian holiday, Christians should ignore their stores.
And here's a snippet re: Salvation Army:
"When you put money into our Kettles, Expect Change:
The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign enables the Army to provide food, toys and clothing to over 6 million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recovering from all kinds of personal disasters nationwide."

Your Salvation Army at work.
Hmmm, none of those ubiquitous bells being rung constantly, ringing and ringing and ringing. Sounds like a good place to shop to me.
Well, include me out: I am going to continue shopping at Target. It is both cheap and convenient, and one should be saving the gasoline nowadays. Instead, one should be boycotting "made in China" crap.
I'm not on that list and don't plan to be. I'm a silent boycotter:')
I won't shop their, I'll buy at Bet Buy and Home Depot instead....
Subject line in link = "Holiday Trees?"
Here's a snippet from the link:
"'O Holiday Tree, O Holiday Tree'
Meanwhile, Sharp says Lowe's, a leading home improvement retailer, has joined Target and many other retailers that are striving to be "politically correct" this Christmas shopping season. He says the Lowe's stores are now selling fresh-cut "holiday" trees."
P.C. has gone too far!
The religious conservatives make fools of themselves. This is about as stupid a boycott as I can ever remember. First of all, Target bans all solicitors and they do a lot of community charitable work, and they DO NOT support any homosexual agenda. Why don't the Religious conservatives use this energy to raise money for the Salvation army instead of boycotting a store for not bending to their agenda. Who gives a rats ass what some dumb store calls Christmas? If it's that important to someone they can pick out a retailer that says Merry Christmas. This boycott will have absolutely no impact on Target's bottom line and the boycott organizers will like impotent.
No Lowe's in my town and the Tarjay don't sell trees. Albertsons allows Salvation Army solicitors. Tarjey doesn't.
BTTT! Target will not see me inside their store until they let the Salvation Army bellringers stand outside their doors.
Or are they trying to "trick" some Jewish customers into buying a tree? Those who want to participate in the "holiday spirit" aspect of the season are likely already doing so.
Great marketing decision there...seriously PO about 5% of your customer base; annoy probably another 25%; to pander to a statistically insignificant group of perpetual whiners.
OK, now I am confused!! I went to the Salvation Army web site (via the link which someone posted above), and low and behold, I saw the following press release right on their site (I have cut and pasted it below). If Target is so anti-Salvation Army, then how does one explain this?? Apparently, the Salvation Army has no qualms about dealing with Target:

PERFECT! For all you that missed this thread originally (and apologies for those who have seen me post it several times) this article shows the Holiday Tree naming convention at its worst!

Actually, it's an "Icon Tree". You decorate it with multi-colored condoms. (Like the previous occupants of the white house did.) - the ultimate PC tree..
Argggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh........this just irritates the living heck out of me. It's SO stupid.
I'm wondering if these idiots had businesses in Israel-If they would ban "Happy Hanukkah", or any reference to Hanukkah, and still expect shoppers to go to their stores? I have no problem with "Merry Christmas" , "Happy Hanukkah" and "Happy Holidays" being used together.
The fact is, the majority of people in our country celebrate Christmas. For a merchant to deliberately ban "Merry Christmas" is just small-minded and mean. I am fed up with this pettiness.
It's up to the majority of us Christians to send these idiots a message- That we are not going to stand for their implication that Christianity is not allowed to be mentioned in public- That's what they are saying to me, when the ban "Merry Christmas".
Shouldn't there also be a boycott at Sears because they have used something even worse than calling a Christmas tree a holiday tree. Sears is using the name "wishing tree".

This is so sad. The Salvation Army is one of the best charities out there.
