CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES 'X' OVER VP'S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH
**Exclusive**
At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!
The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.
As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."
One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.
"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"
A CNN spokesman did not return repeated calls late Monday night.
Developing...
More childishness from the "hate Bush crowd". I worked a tradeshow earlier this year (left-coast liberal interior designer attendees) designer entered my booth and said he would feel better if he could have worn his "F... Bush" t-shirt, but was afraid of being disallowed entry to the show.
Here is the FR post about the photo I mentioned.
Look at the URL of the photo (it says A$$hole)

CNN is not broadcast over the air - it is cable, so the FCC does not have jurisdiction.
I'll take your word(s) for it. I have no idea what a "switcher" even is.
I tried to isolate what was written in black with a couple of my photo programs, but am unable to decipher what it says. But, there is definitely some writing below the X.
Excellent comments.
That is why I don't have a TV and *very* rarely watch movies. Heck, I don't even know who the people are on the covers of the mags at the grocery store. Most of them look like they've had a lot of bad plastic surgery, though.
"It probably was an honest mistake. They aren't stupid enough to do this on purpose."
CNN and 'honest' should never be used in the same sentence. No wonder President Bush's polls have taken a dive(other than that many of the polls are fixed)!
YET ANOTHER LSM network bites the dust! WAY TO GO DRUDGE!!
I've always wished we had a running thread on all these instances of glitches and media bias. Just one place were you could go and see example after example of this crap.
My guess (and it is just a guess) is that they had a focus group going on the speech and when one person indicated a negative reaction the video display of their input was accidently overlayed on the broadcast instead of kept 'in house'.
Yeah. Happens all the time.
Don't worry. Buckhead already busted ya.
HA! HA! HA! That's CNN PROFESSIONALS at work!
he wants to show that he has enough testosterone to sport a soul patch....
Leahy says, payback is a mutha f....
If someone knows how to complain to the FCC for subliminal messaging violations, let us know. We should get the FCC on CNN.
That is the only reason we're all talking about it. They should have just returned his calls, showed him what it was and been done with it.
Stuff like this happens all the time with live TV. I mean, how many times have you seen really, really weird stuff flash past...and you ask the people around you "did you see that?" Janet Jackson springs to mind, actually.
Technology is just to the place that we are able to go back and check it. You wouldn't believe what you can find in old tv shows and movies that accidentally got edited in because it's basically imperceptible to the human eye.
Also, while product placement does work, studies have shown over and over that for the most part, subliminal advertising doesn't work. So, it may have been some kind of jokester, I bet it was only a mistake.
Which is really too bad. I wish the press was this easy to catch at their game. Unfortunately, they are too stupid to even realize they have an agenda, let alone plan it into the subliminal category.
If the first graders that run the Chicken Noodle Network doodle, but nobody is watching, did they really doodle???
FOFL!!! ... did you say that with a straight face???
As for CNN ... well ... at least they didn't use a sniper target like CBS used with the President
How about . . .they are 'angry' enough; hateful enough. . .desperate enough. . .despicable enough. . .arrogant enough. . .disgusting enough. . .unconscienable enough. . .and if that is not enough. . .I'm sure we could add more here.
Stutpid is such a small part of this ugly picture. . .
