HERNDON, VA Young Americas Foundation exposed Warren Community Colleges radical Professor John Daly, who in an email to student Rebecca Beach, vowed to intimidate those students who host conservative speakers and called for American soldiers in Iraq to murder their superiors.
Instead of admonishing the professors intemperate attack on a students right of free expression, Warren Community College President William Austin said Prof. John Daly has first amendment rights to harass Rebecca. Furthermore, the President is trying to bully Rebecca into silence. He said Rebecca, not Prof. John Daly, is ruining the colleges name by going on talk radio and television exposing Dalys mean spirited email.
In an interview with the Express-Times, a local New Jersey paper, Daly stood by his email to Rebecca. He told the paper that Rebeccas conservative group is an ultra right-wing, possibly fascist, group.
Dalys email to Rebecca came after she sent a note to faculty announcing the appearance of decorated war hero Lt. Col. Scott Rutter to discuss Americas accomplishments in Iraq.
Dalys unedited email can be read in full below.
Prof. John Daly knowingly intimidated one of his students. Thats not protected by the First Amendment, said Jason Mattera, spokesman for Young Americas Foundation. It was poor judgment to hire Daly to begin with. Warren Community College compounds their ineptitude by defending Dalys harassment of Rebecca.

I think you've pointed out something that many of us forget. These people live in a bubble - everyone they work with, everyone they know, in fact, is extremely leftwing (I think the word "liberal" no longer describes it) and they honestly cannot conceive of any world other than their own. Reality faded away a long time ago in Liberal Land.
Still, there's got to be a lawsuit in there somewhere. For those of us who are not in Liberal Land.

I also sent the president an e-mail suggesting that he consider whether he wants an angry, hostile, intemperate and uncontrolled person with poor judgment and no sense like Daly not only acting as a spokesman for their college, but also teaching their students. I also reminded him that the First Amendment is a two-way street - the student also has a right to present her views without attack by some leftist loser (I didn't say "leftist loser" but, come on, what else can you call that fool?)

Let Mr. Daly know that I think the wars will end when students shoot their teachers, bet he won't like that and would think that to be threatening.

If John Doe publicly calls for the murder of Professor John Daly, would that not be a crime? Only if the threat was credible, and only if it were against a specific person.
So, if someone with a shotgun in their hand, said that John Daly should die, that would be a crime. If some drunk ranting idiot said it, probably not.
And it definately wouldn't be a crime, to say 'College Students should murder their professors'. It's too generic.
So he's not guilty of a crime, he's merely guilty of being an a$$hole.

If you want to count the number of deaths based on political systems, you can begin with the more than a million children who have died in Iraq from U.S.-imposed sanctions and war. Or the million African American people who died from lack of access to healthcare in the US over the last 10 years. Political opinion is one thing. This clown is talking facts and getting it dead wrong. This isn't like saying Van Buren wasn't a good president, it's like saying that 2+2=5.
As far as I'm concerned, Mr. Daly doesn't have the required level of knowledge to be a professor (he's an English teacher but he had to take Gen. Ed. courses to get a degree). Since the college hired this guy, their hiring practices are highly questionable and maybe somebody should take a look at their accreditation (or is this one of those non-accredited diploma-mill schools?).
To: Lloyd227
Reached by telephone Friday, Daly said he didn't believe the college could investigate an e-mail he sent as a private communication. Well, he admitted in his email he was going to use his position as an employee of the school to discourage others (his students) from attending. And since he said he was going to intimidate Rebecca and others into silence, then I have no doubt he would intimidate thme into embracing his views.

This really is shocking, even coming out of a professor's mouth. His email to her could have been written by stalin himself. What rage he has. Communists/Liberals are such unhappy people. I smile everyday knowing they are miserable. Moreen Dowd- what a miserable person.
Sometimes, I wish I could go back to my college days at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I would challenge professors like this to a duel. It would be my service to humanity. A guy like this is evil and evil should be eliminated.

Claims 100,000 (Oh - Now a million!) children killed in Iraq vbecause of UN sanctions (imposed BECAUSE the UN (and US leftists!) didn't want Saddamn removed from power when we had the chance in 1992.
Claims 1,000,000 afro-americans died in the US from "lack of health care.
---
And I suppose he has proof of these numbers too.
--
Saddamn was (innocnetly) killing 30,000 per year? Caused 800,000 deaths in the various wars he has started in the region since the 1970's?

WCCC investigating controversial e-mail
Adjunct instructors comments gain national attention
WASHINGTON TWP. (Nov. 18, 2005) Officials at Warren County Community College are investigating political comments about the war in Iraq made by an adjunct instructor to a student via an e-mail message.
Responding earlier this week to a students invitation to attend a student club event, John Daly, an adjunct instructor of Basic Writing and Developmental English, e-mailed the student with a host of his own personal beliefs. The student club event, sponsored by the Young Americans for Freedom, featured Iraq war veteran Lt. Col. Scott Rutter as a guest speaker.
WCCC President Dr. William Austin personally welcomed guests to the event, held on Thursday, and introduced Rebecca Beach, president and secretary of the newly formed club. Lt. Col. Rutters talk was well received, and deemed a success by attendees.
WCCC is further investigating Mr. Dalys conduct and his expression of views in the classroom and on campus.
Indeed, Mr. Dalys comments have caused much controversy on and off campus. Dr. Austin said, I personally find Mr. Dalys e-mail disgraceful and offensive, yet I must maintain that the college be a place for free expression, ideas, and open debate.
Dr. Austin added, We must remember that Mr. Daly is just one instructor out of many here. These are apparently his personal political views. He does not represent the colleges views, mission, and core values. We are a small community college and are here to serve the community and will continue to do so.
The college will continue to keep its pulse on this issue while maintaining its high standards of professionalism and integrity of all concerned, noted Dr. Austin.
WCCC Chairman of the Board, Ed Smith, said, We are fortunate to live in a world where so many brave men and women are willing to fight and die for our freedoms, including the right to express ones opinions.
NOTE:
Quote Dr Austin:"yet I must maintain that the college be a place for free expression, ideas, and open debate. Unquote
This seems to defend Daly when in fact Daly's attempt to censor Ms. Beach and his subsequent conduct show every one that Daly is acting to make sure the college IS NOT a place for free expression. ideas and open debate."
Dr. Austin might consider this fact instead of attempting to merely reconstruct Warren College's image. This is what makes Warren College an unacceptable post secondary institution of "higher" learning for senior high school students who are now shopping for a place to attend.
Daly owes a public apology to the student body of Warren College and deserves a dock in pay for the rest of the year, if not a required, tendered resignation.
Watch Liberal Academe Circle the wagons to protect Daly. Warren College is not fit for man, woman nor beast to attend!!!

Right on Doc!
Daly needs a solid lesson in mannerly conduct as an educator. If he wants to go to war against the USA, give him a one way ticket to Iran, and tell him to "Bring it ON!"
Love to see him with a turban on, carrying a rifle, rather than bullying young minds into submission!!!

For those of you following this story and contacting the pertinent local officials, please be firm, respectful and mindful of the fact that these types of "personnel issues" do require a bit of time and legal finesse to be managed correctly.
From the tone of the press release at the home page of this school and from the shift in that tone since this began, I have reason to believe this situation will be correctly resolved very soon, possibly on Tuesday evening at the emergency meeting they've called.
Please don't be shy about contacting them, but do be mindful of the position these officials are in.
Cheers,
Lloyd

Deopending on State LAw, Daly's speech may constitute hate speech.
I do not think there is any civil action avaioable unless Ms, Beach suffered damages.
Daly is simply a BULLY, not and educator.
He needs a visit from some freepers who have bulging biceps withg tatoos on 'em!!

As a resident of this county it is my opinion that WCCC is a below par college. My son chose to attend County College of Morris (fully accredited) in the neighboring county. We have heard that CCM's credits are more easily transferred to a 4 Year college than WCCC. I believe your suspicions are true.
