HERNDON, VA Young Americas Foundation exposed Warren Community Colleges radical Professor John Daly, who in an email to student Rebecca Beach, vowed to intimidate those students who host conservative speakers and called for American soldiers in Iraq to murder their superiors.
Instead of admonishing the professors intemperate attack on a students right of free expression, Warren Community College President William Austin said Prof. John Daly has first amendment rights to harass Rebecca. Furthermore, the President is trying to bully Rebecca into silence. He said Rebecca, not Prof. John Daly, is ruining the colleges name by going on talk radio and television exposing Dalys mean spirited email.
In an interview with the Express-Times, a local New Jersey paper, Daly stood by his email to Rebecca. He told the paper that Rebeccas conservative group is an ultra right-wing, possibly fascist, group.
Dalys email to Rebecca came after she sent a note to faculty announcing the appearance of decorated war hero Lt. Col. Scott Rutter to discuss Americas accomplishments in Iraq.
Dalys unedited email can be read in full below.
Prof. John Daly knowingly intimidated one of his students. Thats not protected by the First Amendment, said Jason Mattera, spokesman for Young Americas Foundation. It was poor judgment to hire Daly to begin with. Warren Community College compounds their ineptitude by defending Dalys harassment of Rebecca.
LOL BTW, this is the first time I have run across your screen name though we have both been around here for a bit......
See you on the threads.....
100 million is a conservative (no pun intended) estimate of the victims of communism. What an ignorant putz this Daley is. He not only is in denial of the # of Commie victims, but equates capitalism with the State. How has capitalism killed people?

As a county freeholder for five years I have become a supporter of Warren County Community College during my time in office. Recently, a part-time adjunct instructor, Mr. John Daly responded to a students invitation to attend a student club event sponsored by Young Americans for Freedom. After reading Mr. John Dalys e-mail response I feel personally offended and believe that no student of our college should have to endure such an outrageous assault. Further, I feel our troops and our leaders have been wrongfully maligned. As a leader in Warren County concerned with the use of our tax dollars, I am even more offended that our taxes have gone to support his malicious rhetoric.
However, I can assure all Warren County residents that this part-time adjunct instructor for the college does not represent the views of the college, President Austin, or the board of trustees, many of whom I voted to appoint.
I have complete confidence in the College administration and their ability to investigate this situation and handle it judiciously and expeditiously. The college President has assured me that the investigation has been elevated to ensure the safety of all concerned. Warren County Community College has become a college that serves our community and one that we should continue to proudly support. As college liaison, I am continuously in communication with President Austin and he is keeping me well informed. Although I cannot personally be satisfied with the outcome at this point, I know that he, his administration, and the Board will resolve this issue as quickly as is legally possible.
And, this story also provides a bit more detail:
Administrators at Warren County Community College said Friday they were investigating the classroom conduct of an adjunct professor who e-mailed comments about the Iraq war to the founder of a conservative student group.
"I personally find Mr. Daly's e-mail disgraceful and offensive, yet I must maintain that the college be a place for free expression, ideas, and open debate," college president Will Austin said in a statement.
English Professor John Daly, a member of the anti-war group International A.N.S.W.E.R., e-mailed WCCC freshman Rebecca Beach on Sunday, responding to her request to tell his students about a campus visit by retired Lt. Col. Scott Rutter, a veteran of the Iraq war and now a Fox News commentator.
Beach founded the campus chapter of Young Americans for Freedom, a national conservative activist group. Her group, and the conservative Young America's Foundation, brought Rutter to campus to speak about his experiences in Iraq.
In his e-mail to Beach, who was not his student, Daly wrote that he believes the war will end only when American soldiers turn their guns on their commanding officers.
College officials said they were investigating Daly's e-mail message, as well as his conduct and his expression of views in the classroom on campus.
"We must remember that Mr. Daly is just one instructor out of many here," Austin said. "He does not represent the college's views, mission and core values. We are a small community college and are here to serve the community and will continue to do so."
Reached by telephone Friday, Daly said he didn't believe the college could investigate an e-mail he sent as a private communication.
Once again, he stood by his statements on the future of the war in Iraq. He reiterated his belief that soldiers are being sent there to benefit oil companies.
"A lot of people are really upset about this main comment, my belief, and the belief of others, and the historical evidence that the war will end when soldiers turn around and fight for social justice here at home," Daly said.
He said he had been horrified to learn that soldiers used white phosphorus, an incendiary weapon, during the battle for Fallujah in 2004.
"That violence has been going on, by the U.S. military, using working and poor people like the students at WCCC who die for oil profits," Daly said. "There's plenty of evidence now."
Beach appeared on Fox New Channel's "Hannity and Colmes" on Friday night. She told the show's hosts she believed Daly should be fired.
College officials have said they are treating Daly's e-mail as a personnel issue. Daly said he was talking with college officials about his employment at the school.
"We're in discussions right now about our future relationship," he said. "That will probably be finalized sometime next week."

For anyone interested, I have a ping list for "Tyranny of Liberal Academia". Let me know if you'd like to be either on or off the list.
Cheers,
Lloyd
Maybe we can send David Horowitz and his crew after them.
Most employers don't get to do that when they have allowed an employee to violate the civil rights of another.
Sean has been on this since Thursday. He had Rebecca on his radio show on Thurs & Fri & his TV show, Friday night.
Yup, so've Gibson and O'Reilly. You'd think that folks involved in higher education would've learned when to stop digging.
Legal questions:
If John Doe publicly calls for the murder of Professor John Daly, would that not be a crime?
If it is a crime, then why has John Daly not been criminally charged with solicitation of murder when he calls for the murder of American military leaders?
Hannity has been doing a great job handling this and making sure that liberal fascism like this is exposed to the light of day. How dare that college presidente try to say that this girl is hurting the reputation of her school! What chutzpa! This would be akin to a sexual-harrassment victim going public after the institution failed to do anything about it, then attacking her for making it public! Insanity!
Agreed. There's gotta be an angle there. I can't believe the administration was dumb enough to overtly support this guy.

Gee, I thought that liberals were so tolerant and pro-diversity! (heavy sarcasm)
Please add me to your ping list, as a taxpayer in Warren County I'm VERY interested.
Advocating murder and treason is free speech? If this isn't what treason is, what is it?
Oo! Oo! Oo! Did they say, "personnel issues"? You can be assured the College President's hairy little pointed ears pricked up at THAT phrase! Heh, heh!
Buh bye.
Screw Republicans. We only APPROVE of the left's sides of expression, ideas, and open debate.
There is another story this semester where, in New Jersey, a part-time professor sent an email to a "women's studies" professor asking her to remove his name from her mailing list for lesbian-type announcements.
Guess what! He is being punished for harassing HER! Hannity would do well to have him on as well as this student.
