And once it passes...oh boy. NOT good for the unions! And THAT is a good thing!

San Francisco and the Bay Area will vote against 73, 74 and 75 but it won't make a difference. Californians like a spending cap - when 46% of the public voted for it, politicians need to pay attention. People obviously do want the government to live within its means (Prop. 76 wouldn't really restrain spending so that's why voters rejected it) and the Democrats are in danger of overreaching if they think it means business as usual.

I'm surprised about Inyo, Kern and SB counties on 77. I thought these more conservative areas would swing Yes. I know it's early though.

Notice some votes came in from SF and knocked down 75 to just over 55%.

I'm not sure about Prop. 73 and 74. They seem too close that, once San Franfreakshow comes in, these two might fail.

Prop. 75 on the other hand...appears headed to victory! And more power to it!

Why would you want an unelected panel deciding the district lines? Seems the conservative position would have only elected officials so that they could be held accountable by voters!

Yes, you should have 1 elected official drawing the lines. But what you should not have is the legislature draw the lines for themselves which is what I think is true in CA.

The legislature draws the lines so that they can always win which means they draw the lines which means they win, etc.

I think you hit the nail on the head, here. I wasn't really happy with the "retired judges redistricting" in 77. Also wasn't too sure about 76, because of the borrowing, but voted for both because of Arnold. If we want him to clean this place up, we have to give him the tools. But not too surprised if 76-77 go down. At least it's a place to start next time.

I honestly don't think most people in California see 73 as particularly controversial. It is just that anything at all that encroaches on abortion availability is seen as a slippery slope in this state.

I would like 73 and 75 to pass of all of them but if only 75 passes, hell , light the stogies. ;-)

Only the President and VP have Constitutional requirements for their offices (Article 2, Section 1; and the 12th Amendment, respectively). There are no other constitutional requirements for any other Executive offices (which is why cabinet members are said to serve "at the pleasure of the President.") So technically, no one else in the line of succession needs to have these same requirements. In the event of a catstrophe, should the line come to one who does not meet them, that person would simply be skipped in the line of succession.

They will pass. They're leading in Los Angeles County. Hey we take what we can get. All year Arnold has been pulverized by the unions and the Democrats and he's still standing. He'll look stronger after tomorrow. The spending cap issue will be back again as well as redistricting. Those issues are not going to go away any time soon.

9.2% turnout in San Fransisco?

9.1% in LA?

If those are right then 73,74, and 75 are all going to pass. Perhaps even 77.
