My Fellow FReepers,
As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.
THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.
Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?
Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!
Psst...things aren't going well for conservatives.
Do you watch the network evening news to get your info too? Come on.
Nonsense.
Lautenberg was elected in 2003.
Fill me in on the details.
Why is Campbell gonna lose? Scandal? Inept leadership?
Who is Frank Jackson? Are Cleveland voters simply trading one dem for another?
Codey would have an easier race against Tom Kean Jr. than Menendez would. Expect him to be the choice.
The recovery from the recession began in November 1982.
The two years prior to the landslide WERE successful...not just perceived as such.
Oh I think the word is already out. There's been so much excellent news the past week and a half the liberals are scared stiff about it. I mean, over 40 million Americans get their news from radio, the net, places like FR, group emails, FOX News, and then spread that to everyone they know. That's MILLIONS more. That is why most Americans are conservative. That's just how it is. The elections prove that. Contrary to the polls. 8) Be positive. Great things will happen next year. The truth can't be hidden.
A President must respond selectively to public charges!
GOP Senators should be acting as the President's surrogates; unfortunately, they're either running for president or planning to run for president -- pathetic!
yes, but NJ hispanics are expecting Menendez will get a senate seat. if Cody is put in to replace Corzine, that tells me Menendez will be installed to replace a retiring Lautenberg.
I wouldn't overstate it. The polls are important, though, but only one component of crafting policy.
Look at the dems - their fringiest liberals/leftists have a lot of undue influence on the national party, even though some of those positions poll poorly. That being saidm they still manage to win in some places, consistently.
The GOP are leaders, NOT rulers. And yes, when things are better for the GOP, the polls WILL STILL BE important. That's my point. And if Bush's approval are 25% this time next year, you should care, especially if voter discontent means losing both houses of congress.
I miss Ari, SOOOOOOOOO much. 8(
Got Batchelor on? Depressing.
Nope, I get my news from online resources. I haven't watched network news in over 15 years (except for peeks on election nights).
That being said, millions of people do get their info from the network news.
amongst the people who vote in the Dem primaries, there are no votes to defeat Hillary if she wants it. she is a superstar and a celebrity, amongst that crowd.
Oh I dare them to put him back in the Senate
No argument from me.
