My Fellow FReepers,
As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.
THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.
Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?
Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!

dems going down hard here
I predicted a Bush win with about 300-310 EVs. He won with around 290. Close. Check the old threads, if you want.
I think he would lose if the election was today, though. Thankfully, it isn't.
Yeah, Prop 2 KICKED BUTT. This is a emphatic way for Texas to tell the aclu and all those liberal groups, "DO NOT come to our state and spread your lies and tamper with voters by lying about elections an dpropositions! YOU WILL LOSE!" Stupid libs. They're so slow. Good for us. 8)
The VA poll correctly predicted this election.
Polling is becoming more accurate.
WTG FELLOW TEXANS
My only surprise in 2004 was that Kerry made it that close. He was the most liberal senator from the most liberal state in the country, had all kinds of baggage including his phony war record and radical anti-war activities, an uncharismatic style, a dreadful wife, and the richest man ever to run for president as a major party candidate. Kerry was running against an incumbent, wartime President in good economic times and still only lost by 3 million votes and received 251 electoral votes.
The courts will legalize it-just a matter of time.
Mostly in getting the message out and improving public perception. Bush appears out of touch and well off the reservation - he needs to appear in touch and on the reservation.
I don't think Kilgore ran hard enough on tax issues. I think he thought he could win on just abortion and the death penalty. Now the national media won't be able to shut up about how this is a sign of things to come in 2006.
"FNC just predicted that Kaine won the Gov Seat"
I just saw that, thanks.
I'm sorry.
Nashville here.
I can relate.
State polling is easier than national polling for obvious reasons. In 2004, most of the polls blew it and continue to blow it today by having polls that sample 50%-55% Democrat and 25%-35% Republican.
I asked you what you were predicting during the spring and summer when the MSM-manufactured polling data had the President losing to Kerry by double digits!
You were predicting Kerry win all year long in 2004.
They are!, in record numbers in Southern Maine. Portland is San Francisco East!
