My Fellow FReepers,
As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.
THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.
Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?
Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!
This is more of a all politics is local race, IMO. Afterall the Gov. of VA doesn't run foreign policy.
Must be cuz he's siphoning R votes.
this is as stressful as watching a Caps game
Pretty much how I voted, after arguing with the poll worker for half an hour to get a PAPER ballot. I just don't trust the DRE here in the OC. They kept trying to make me fill out a provisional ballot along with a new voter registration! Finally they looked up the situation and determined they were to use the same paper ballots, but all I had to do was sign the front of the envelope. I voted same last year and did not go through this. I still don't know if they handled it properly.
They admitted that they were trying to encourage use of the electronic voting machines, so did not like giving out a paper ballot.
George Bush is the only man I can think of who would give Scott McClellan a job.

SERIOUSLY?
Oh great, just like those Libertarian schmucks.
What does "early vote" mean?
Dubya's approval rating wasn't 35-40 back then, either. Congressional approval was not at significant lows, either.
The clarity and wisdom (no quotes needed) comes from realizing that Dubya has largely sucked for the last year. The GOP polls poorly. The polls are accurate. W can fix things, but not if he doesn't recognize the problems.
This is a lesson for future reference! We can't play nice anymore..DAMN IT! The RATS with the EXTREME help of the mediaWHORES are going to kick our butts in 06 and 08! If our base doesn't fight back in future battles, WATCH for president Hiltery to reign in our WH!
with 2% precincts reporting?
not really, McClellan likes being in front of a microphone. every drive thru operator at McDonalds has one - he would be right at home there. Of course, my order would be all screwed up, but I can live with that.
Thank goodness for term limits.
Kilgore was a strong conservative that was against illegals. Anyone that was using this race to send a message to RNC was throwing out someone on our side. Punish the rino's not good conservatives. That would be like wanting to punish Tom Coburn to send a message to the RNC.

Here is a good NJ blog. Reports of high turnout in republican strongholds......
Then explain how Warner(D) won in 01 with Bush ratings in the 70's.
Seems like this VA gov. race is going to be the same % as the 01 race.
