My Fellow FReepers,
As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.
THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.
Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?
Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!

Pulled the lever for Doug this morning while holding the barf bag. "Go Doug!""Doug Forrester... at least he's not an adulterer."
Paid for by the Forrester for New Jersey Committee

I voted early this morning here in occupied (Northern Virginia), I was number 37. Kilgore for sure; Kline is just another liberal Democrat Catholic-in-name-only like that carpetbagger Kerry. Hope Kilgore will get enough votes in real Virginia to cancel the heavily Democrat Northern VA suburbs of DC.

Why do Californians even bother to vote? No matter what they do the 9th circuit will overturn it.
They are better off just redistricting the 9th ciruit.

Ohio:
Hell No on 1-5.
Although since there's no "Hell No" option on the ballot...a simple "no" will suffice!

There is a move to break up the 9th circuit's control, I actually hadn't heard about it in awhile so don't know if it already failed. Several states complained that San Francisco (in effect) shouldn't control their states. Differing moral views and all that. ;)
CA will be still be stuck with the 9th.

We have to win Virginia today.I'd prefer to, but it's not critical (except for Virginians, of course) - Lieberman & Kerry set the precedent of Senators' NOT resigning to run on the Presidential ticket, so Allen can simply follow it in '08, and not worry who Kaine (if he wins - I think he won't) would appoint to fill his seat.

Good luck in NJ. That whole state is as hostile to the GOP as blizzards are to orange groves.

Yup, it's a blue state with a rainbow faction that controlled the State House for years.

I understood that the final redistrict would require an approval by the vote of the people!

In Ohio, #4 will fail. #5 is a coin toss. 2 and 3 look poised to pass.

Both Kilgore and Kaine are throwing victory parties tonight. One of them is going to be a very depressing party.

I didn't under his "hell no" on 77 either. A legislature dominated by democrats is some how better than retired judges? heh
To: BillyBoy
I voted "YES" on all of the California Props.
Very light turnout as well.
