ACHERES, France Riots that started in Paris' lower-class suburbs and resulted in 250 arrests of predominantly Muslim youths Saturday moved into the capital of France early Sunday morning.
By 1 a.m., a spokesman for the national police reported 13 vehicles torched in the capital, and 607 vehicles burnt overall during the 10th straight night of rioting. Totals are expected to rise by morning.

The violence originally concentrated in neighborhoods northeast of Paris with large immigrant populations is forcing France (search) to confront anger long-simmering in its suburbs, where many Africans and their French-born children live on society's margins, struggling with unemployment, poor housing, racial discrimination, crime and a lack of opportunity.
Youths armed with gasoline bombs lit vehicles, a nursery school and other targets on fire as they made their way through higher-class towns and to the capital.

In quiet Acheres, on the edge of the St. Germain forest west of the capital, arsonists burned a nursery school, where part of the roof caved in, and about a dozen cars in four attacks over an hour that the mayor said seemed "perfectly organized."
Children's photos clung to the blackened walls, and melted plastic toys littered the floor. Residents gathered at the school gate demanded that the army be deployed or suggested that citizens band together to protect their neighborhoods.
Mayor Alain Outreman (search) tried to cool tempers.
"We are not going to start militias," he said. "You would have to be everywhere."
In one particularly malevolent attack, youths in the eastern Paris suburb of Meaux (search) prevented paramedics from evacuating a sick person from a housing project. They pelted rescuers with rocks, then torched the awaiting ambulance, an Interior Ministry official said.

Its like fighting off Leaves in a forest.
You are an idiot!!!
This is France's 9/11. Perhaps Europe's as well--although Britain has already had theirs.
I have to disagree. This is France's Iran Rebellion.
Well, if the Spaniards are any sign that leaves much to be desired..

It's all good.
(In a relative manner as this could not be happening to a more deserving country)
BBC, Foxnews, Sky News...Its in most AP reports.
Thanks for the info. I will check it out now.
You just have to look deeper for it, the MSM protects its 'innocent'
I'll believe it when I see it, until I do I say we don't rescue them this time around.Oh and I'll give it another week before they blame the whole thing on the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the whole "war on terror" in general.
Different culture, different events. The outcome is not at all certain. I know it's fashionable to disrepect the French, but every crisis is another opportunity for them to either shine...or surrender yet again. We'll see.
There is no way to stop this now, same thing in California; new generation immigrants with their vandalism and hatred to law and order are widespread, just turn on the radio, and hear the gansta rap calling the thugs to march lock step.
No way to stop this now because as in France just as it is here, it is politically incorrect to confront anything evil in the name of diversity and tolerance, well trochee la Frances!
Europeans exterminated (or watched the extrmintaion) their last restless unassimilated minority that produced a few anarchists and bomb throwers, only to invite another one into their midst (out of guilt, mostly, I think) that produces thousands of anarchists and bomb throwers, and now don't know what to do with it. It doesn't look good and the solution is not in sight.
THAT is their only hope!! They are at even less advantage than what we are because we have guns.
I think you're being too optimistic.
Who wants to bet that France will blame the rioting on Bush and the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and not on the Islamoradicals?
