Now that the "so called Conservatives" have helped sink the Miers nomination and hurt Bush politically, can you STOP BREAKING RONALD REAGAN'S 11TH COMMANDMENT!!!

Do we have enough senators with a spine that will fight the dims?

The answer to that is a big NO. The Gang of 14 rules all.

"There will be no reunification".

Why should there be?

Did Bush just un-sign CFR? Did he just un-grow the fed gvt?

Did he not try to pull this Miers thing off to begin with?

Did you Bush bots not all put support for the party ahead of principle?

Reconcile this.

Kristol was on FOX this morning and grinning like a cheshire cat. Actually, he was "smirking".

That's pretty much Kristol's permanent expression.

Changing parties does not mean she changed beliefs.

I beg to differ with that statement.

"They are like the liberals, they can't make it through their day without being offended about something."

You ARE a liberal, what with your acceptance of pro-abortion, pro-affirmative action Judges, and your favoring of open borders. Not to mention your carrying the water for Islamofascist-apologist RINOs like Chris Cannon.

"Let the healing begin."

No. That's what Democrats say when they're caught lying and stealing and public opinion is going against them. I've seen the face of my party (which I only joined a few years ago oin order to make a statement of solidarity) and IT IS FLIPPING UGLY. Every bit as ugly as the Democrats.

I'm switching back to Independent.

How do you NOT know that for sure?

So Miers would have steped down if we did nothing. Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

I do hope this forum combines with the pundits and the next nominee to apply pressure where it belongs, with all the vehemence we have seen for the last few weeks: the Senate.

Oh, I think the Republicans in the Senate have been watching this fight with a great deal of attention, and more than a little fearfulness. You could see them looking over their shoulders the past couple of days. They rode into the last midterm on Bush's coattails, due to a very large turnout of social and religious conservatives. Normally the party that controls the White House loses seats in a midterm election. 2002 was almost without precedent.

It could happen again in 2006; but ONLY if Bush nominates a good, strong candidate for the Supreme Court and the Republican senators support it. If not, millions of voters will stay home and the Republicans could lose some or all of their margin in both houses. It's not that the Democrats are wildly popular. It's just that the Republican base would be totally disgusted with them.

This is the acid test. Will Bush nominate a strong candidate, and will the Republicans support him? Nothing else can pull things together again.

I can't believe we're not hammering this property rights thing down the throat of every lib pundit and "newscaster", in this SC nominee issue.

I talked with a liberal friend the other day who thought it was conservatives who pushed the "steal your property for a condo developer" ruling through the SC. We need to hammer this issue. We're on the right side, they're not. Republicans can pick up new voters on this issue.

The MSM isn't playing it large for a reason - and that reason is it hurts dems.

I have read about her. She would be a fine SC Justice. There are many highly qualified female candidates, and I would like to see Bush hit a home run this time.

"Do we have enough senators with a spine that will fight the dims?"

They better. They are our team. They work for us. Or we trade them. Being sent to Congress is not a way to a pension plan. You need to DO something. Simple as that.
