TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Police used tear gas to break up a rock-throwing crowd that had gathered to protest a planned march Saturday by the National Socialist Movement.
At least two dozen members of a Roanoke, Va.-based group that calls itself "America's Nazi Party" had gathered at Wilson Park just before noon and were to march under police protection.

so free speech should be banned by people that hold unpopular beliefs or don't think like you? (not defending scum nazis here but everyone)
They are perfect for each other.
Can you discuss something that has meaning instead of just picking?
Exactly. You have summed up the entire picture.
Nope. Unpopular beliefs is one thing - preaching that everyone who is not them should be killed off is counter to species and individual survival and should NOT be tolerated.
In other words, Nazis announce that they are our enemies and want to see the rest of us dead. I'd call that a clear and open threat, wouldn't you?
Hi DJ...I noticed your last post on this thread(I still have to go back and read this thread from the beginning)
But I will agree with what you said here..I also heard the same thing about this guy posting on a BB, and then it caught the eye of a nazi...dont know if that is true, but that is what I heard reported...ok now, I have to read this entire thread...should take me quite a while...
I must be older than you. The First Amendment guarantees your right to speak about your government without fear of reprisal. It has come to mean that anyone can say anything they feel like.
Oh it will! Make sure you see the rest of the story in post 611.
Those pushing for Sharia Law also are supremists. They seek to put muslims above "Jews and Christians" (people of the book) and both groups aove "everyone else" (Hindus, Buddhists, atheists...).
It's why I call the radical muslim ideology Islamonazism. Those who embrace it support a supremecist rhetoric, preach antisemitism, and condone murder of people on the basis of their faith.
What's more, a non-mulsim woman may convert her faith to marry a muslim man but a muslim woman should not marry a man who converts to Islam.
Do all nazis (not German WWII nazis) endorse the killing of everyone who is not aryan? Are they all pure blood?
If all neonazis preached genocide, why are some Holocaust deniers?
At least the Imam on Ask the Imam said that "if we can believe the accounts" it was wrong of the Germans to kill old and young Jews.
If a hate group (nazis) endorses murder, why would they insist it didn't happen?
"In other words, Nazis announce that they are our enemies and want to see the rest of us dead."
Great. And by that standard, we can ban all speech by radical Islamics.
Don't you see that what is considered "hateful" today may be fashionable tomorrow?
There is no jury in the world that can fairly distinguish between "hate" and "frustration"; "hate" and "politically incorrect"; "hate" and "spiteful"; "hate" and "politically motivated"; or "hate" and "anger".
Our founding fathers understood that any limitations on our right to peaceably assemble would signal the beginning of the end of a constitutional republic.
Ask The Imam: many muslims priase Hitler for killing jews, shoud they or are they wrong. (2001-04-19 )
Answer:Islam has ordered us Muslims to fight against the enemies of Islam and not be like the Jew and make other nations fight their wars. We as Muslims may share in Hitlers hatered for the Jews but we cannot praise him for the manner in which he went about killing the jews (if the history books are correct). But rather we as Muslims are governed by the Shariah which prohibit the killing the old and the weak etc.

The obvious problem with hate speech laws is that they've actually interfered with free discussion of ideas.
They're also selectively applied against one side.
ROTFLMAO!
Very much like the infighting between Dean and Kerry supporters.
I agree with you. The "riot" is just a farce pulled by some people who wanted to riot. There is no justification for it. Most of us on this forum deal with people who's opinions we despise without destroying things.
well abortion murders tens of millions a year... why don't you worry about taking away the right to free speech of people who support that? I mean, killing tens of millions seems a little worse than 14 people holding a rally to protest black gangs harassing white people... but I suppose that's always justification for hundreds of black youths to take to the streets, loot, destroy property, set fires, etc...? Right?
Julie Banderas at Fox (of course, the only ones covering and I watched live for like 3 hours... flipped to the other 2 and not once did I see them covering/mentioning it) had a quote from some black guy who had complained to police not to allow the Nazi-rally (which by the way, never even took place)... His quote was now (paraphrasing) "well, what did you think was going to happen when you let them have a rally?" To which I would have said... "Well, I don't think hundreds of thug idiots terrorizing their own neighborhoods and looting and burning down homes is justified by anything here." Even the Toledo Mayor is making ridiculous statements like that. Anyway, do you think then that if the Black Panthers or Nation of Islam have a march in white suburbs we should all band together and run around burning down homes and looting businesses, tearing apart fences (for no apparent reason.)
From what I saw on the TV, there was nothing in common. What I saw was pure mob mentality destruction with no rhyme or reason behind it. For all intents and purposes, this could have been a scene in either Somalia or Rwanda.
I have seen this time and time again but in most of the cases it was described as "over exuberant fans" celebrating whatever........
FWIW, the 68 riots here in Detroit started out the same way........
