White House warns holdouts

White House officials have a message for conservative Republican senators who have expressed doubt about supporting Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers.

The West Wing types argue that she will turn out to be just as conservative as President Bush says she is, and voting against her would be an embarrassment over the long term. This message is intended for holdouts including Sam Brownback of Kansas, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, and Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania.

"If Miers is confirmed and she winds up being what the president says she is, Republican senators who voted against her will look quite foolish," says a GOP insider. This could cause a backlash against these legislators from conservative Bush supporters at the grass roots.

Treason is as treason does.

It's now treason to disagree with George W Bush.

I guess I am treasonous on Illegal Immigration.

I guess I am treasonous on Spending that would make a liberal blush.

I guess I am treasonous on CFR. I kind of like the Right to Free Political Speech.

I guess I am treasonous on NCLB, and letting that fat tub of goo Kennedy write it.

If I am treasonous, you sir are a grade a nut.

General Bush would be going to war with a rag tag army comprised of a few warriors, a herd of cats, some blind girl scouts, and a few officers waiting for him to close his eyes just once so they can strangle him in his sleep. And that nuclear bomb we were counting on? It seems the very officers who want to kill Caesar not only have control of the football, they have shared the launch codes with the enemy as well.

ROFL

Those who undermine the President doing his Constitutional duty will be the death of the Party.

Look, they want you to keep posting, dragging this through the sewer. You are the front man in dragging down the party for God's sakes! Stop it, your killing the party!

"Those who undermine the President doing his Constitutional duty will be the death of the Party. Those who presume to have more wisdom and knowledge in this area when they have little will be the death of the Party."

Now that is some scarey ass Hitler Youth stuff.

It is obvious that a tiny minority have arrogated the title "conservative" and use this pretense to attack the President for doing his Constitutional duty.

Judging by their comments over the past two weeks, I'd say that they're having trouble comprehending the entire statement.

Maybe we should start using flash cards.

I wouldn't count on it. The liberals have been exposed for what they are and AMERICA does not like what they see.

That sounds a lot like what I told my coworker's last week.

What happened to our nation?

Republicans are acting like Democrats; Democrats are acting like traitors, and the media is our enemy.

That and President Bush's comments to conserve gasoline smacked of Jimmy Carter. I half expected President Bush to than put on a turtleneck sweater and announce that he'd conserve gasoline by using goats to 'mow' the White House lawn.

I disagree with President Bush quite often. I just don't betray him or give aid and comfort to the enemy because I love my country more than you hate President Bush.

I agree of course. Look, obviously the people tearing down every one of our thinkers, strategists and opinion leaders aren't providing a sensible basis for future success in elections. They're infatuated with a man, not the principles and ideals of our movement.

Remember, Nixon had 20% support in '74, week-o-resignation. I think we have to accept there's an element of our party that will support the leader no matter what he's done (or really, who he is probably). It's an admirable quality really, I'm not entirely disparaging it and we need a measure of it. And how do you turn out base voters with this stuff? We who see the obvious, need to get to work writing the Judiciary Committee members I think.

We were fooled man!

None of these people are conservatives. None. They are all imposter's! Frauds, and weirdos! All trying to drag down Bush! I have taken a second out on my house for the cause. What have you done?

The Constitution says that you vote for electors who vote for the President and he is given the job of nominating Justices NOT you or the Lynch Mob or me or the electorate. Now those who move to elect the President should understand that he is not under their influence but must perform his constitutionally mandated duty NOT subject to day by day approval from the public.

Now if you voted for a President it was because you trusted he would do that duty. He was NOT going to have a running poll of you or me as to what to do.

The Federalist clearly explains why these selections were taken out of the hands of the voters. If you doubt read it.

If you let them, they'll end up depressing base turnout so much they'll effectuate the impeachment of their hero.

And they'll turn around and blame us that dared to only support him 98% of the time and not 100% of the time.

Laura said nothing untoward and it is a LIE to say she did. I don't particularly care if you don't want this truth exposed.

I listen but it is becoming more and more not worth the time. He is completely wrong about this but that doesn't bother me as much as the realization that he used the Laura clip to push a TOTAL lie. And you KNOW it is a lie.
