A Polling Free-Fall Among Blacks (Blanco Sabotage of a whole race against Gop)
washington post ^ | October 13, 2005 | Dan Fromkin

A Polling Free-Fall Among Blacks In what may turn out to be one of the biggest free-falls in the history of presidential polling, President Bush's job-approval rating among African Americans has dropped to 2 percent, according to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The drop among blacks drove Bush's overall job approval ratings to an all-time low of 39 percent in this poll. By comparison, 45 percent of whites and 36 percent of Hispanics approve of the job Bush is doing.

Get used to this BS. We will have polls on everything about Bush and the GOP. The feeding frenzy of the MSM will go on and on until they overplay their hands just like all leftists eventually do.

There is a percentage of people that will believe whatever the MSM reports.

The MSM/Socialists complex needs those believers in order to maintain it's critical mass.

Look for the lies to get more outrageous and shrill as they continue to lose ground.

I think Bush has caused much of this. He seems to be a very gentle and forgiving man. I have never heard him say hateful things or even snide comments about any of those that oppose him.

Sometimes I think he turns the other cheek to much. He has stood up for both Blanco and Nagin, instead of pointing out where the REAL blame lies.

He has not taken the responsibility for the Louisiana fiasco, he took only the responsibility for the Fed.Gov. lack of response.

I agree entirely and you have my personal apology. Assuming the 2% figure is true, unfortunately it seems as though my generalization was more true than not.

I remember in 2000 they were running those "it was like Bush murdered my daddy all over again" commercials because he vetoed some hate crimes legislation (even though the murderer in the case got the death penalty and Texas already had a hate crimes law). I was in a store and decent enough young white guy was talking to decent enough young black guy. Young black guy says he will never vote for George Bush because george Bush vetoed hate crimes legislation. The dem approach on this works.

By the way I ultimately blame the republicans. They sit around while dems accuse them of horrible things and say "tut tut" and are sure people will understand.

It's really a shame because George Bush has avoided anything smacking of racism his whole life. Witness for example his quick abandonments of Trent Lott and Bill Bennett. This is the reward he gets.

Blacks in New Orleans blamed the governor, this is national. Maybe blacks hate Blanco too, but who cares? Her ststus will not affect national elections.

What a nice post. It's a shame that many on here have only negative or crude remarks in their comments.

I sometimes think civility and concern for all CITIZENS is never going to happen.

What I think is heart breaking is some of these remarks won't help those who need truths about what we as a nation should be trying to do. Not just for a certain group. But for all our families.

Thank you, Frannie. I appreciate your comments as well.

My husband and I devotedly raised a daughter who is currently studying to be a pediatric cardiologist. Yes, we're proud of her. And she is a vocal conservative.

We try to be a living example that conservatism and the values it espouses are not race-defined. Two of my nephews and one niece actually listen when I talk to them about personal responsibility and sacrifice. Both nephews are in the Navy. My niece is studying to be a physical therapist. This is progress for a family overrun by liberals--some of whom won't speak to me.

Then I read some of the comments in this thread and others, all I can do is shake my head and say a prayer.

Agree with your assessment of President Bush. . .an honorable and humble man. . .and while there is genuine strength in being a statesman; a gentleman. . .when you have real enemies; you have to find a way to effectively 'deal' with them. Do not think he really goes there. ..

. . ..not the way many of us would like him to, for sure.

As for the Fed.Gov lack of response. . .yes, it was the Fed.Gov. problem; but thought according to every Demrat; that was the Louisiana fiasco ;^) . . .

Wouldn't it be nice to have the Katrina Commission next March just in time for the 2006 elections ?

Your apology is accepted.

I wasn't expecting one. I just wanted you to be aware that you were painting with a broad brush. I'm not PC by a long shot and hope my post won't keep you from speaking on this topic. Fact-based, reasoned discussion of why we can't get past race is long overdue. And all races should be a part of the discussion. But we'll accomplish alot more if we expose why liberals fear conservatism. Many everyday people do what they can to squash liberals twisted history where they come off as saviors. We'll have better luck if true conservatives work with us.

Being defined as Republican is a political distinction but conservatism is a way of life. Just my opinion.

Your statement wasn't in the same vane as some of the other posts.

The author's name is Dan Froomkin and it would appear he is a backroom hack who, having served as an editor and an arbiter of what's fit to post in the Post for over many years, has been turned loose on Bush in full Woodward slather, nose to the ground, head up his ass, full-attack mode baying to the moon while the smell of fresh blood still lingers in the night air.

His resume proudly features his fine hand at controlling the releases of the senate hearings, commentary and feature stories wafting up out of Foggy Bottom during the so-called impeachment hearing of Herr Klinton.

I don't put a lot of stock in what he says.

But then, who am I?

There are probably still a couple of hundred votes out there, somewhere, that haven't already been paid for twice.

Careless statements like this is what makes us look bad.

Give it up with the generalizations, please.

Kitten, I was sitting here reading this thread and shuddering. I started thinking now that the presstitutes smell blood over this hurricane mess, why not go after FreeRepublic, which was the primary cause of the fall of their great leader, Danny Boy. I read this and thought that maybe, just maybe, someone posted a response or two in an effort to make Freepers look bad. Comments like yours give me hope that some Freepers are awake.

I don't say write off the blacks. I say write off the idiots who seem to think they can only have the government give them things. That they are completely incapable of doing for themselves. Oh, BTW, that's black AND white bottom-feeders, or any other race for that matter.

Paul

Thank you for the kind words.

You are right, the malcontents have ulterior motives. You and others have observed that many on the left would like to diminish the impact of Free Republic (and conservatism). But with you, me, and countless others staying vigilant, they can't win.

I'm glad you can separate the victimology wing from the producers/contributors. But I don't think they're incapable of doing for themselves. By all appearances, they don't want the responsibility. If they took conscious control of their lives, they have no one to blame when things go wrong. Hence, the clinging to race-based invective to stir emotion and guilt while stifling honest examination of the issue. The closer the facts come to being exposed to a wide audience, the louder the baiting. Recall the stories/statements on Katrina versus Rita.

You'll notice that whenever a story comes out about blacks leaving the democrat party and/or drifting to the Republican party or supporting the President, stories like the one posted pop up in an attempt to stifle honest discussion or examination of the issue.

Thank you for being a part of the solution.
