What a nice post. It's a shame that many on here have only negative or crude remarks in their comments.
I sometimes think civility and concern for all CITIZENS is never going to happen.
What I think is heart breaking is some of these remarks won't help those who need truths about what we as a nation should be trying to do. Not just for a certain group. But for all our families.

Thank you, Frannie. I appreciate your comments as well.
My husband and I devotedly raised a daughter who is currently studying to be a pediatric cardiologist. Yes, we're proud of her. And she is a vocal conservative.
We try to be a living example that conservatism and the values it espouses are not race-defined. Two of my nephews and one niece actually listen when I talk to them about personal responsibility and sacrifice. Both nephews are in the Navy. My niece is studying to be a physical therapist. This is progress for a family overrun by liberals--some of whom won't speak to me.
Then I read some of the comments in this thread and others, all I can do is shake my head and say a prayer.
