Mark Levin and Dick Morris get into it
WABC radio | October 5, 2005 | Self

Mark Levin and Dick morris have just debated the nomination on Sean hannity's show. After listening to Levin, I am more convinced that Miers is the one I want. Levin talks a good game about not wanting judges who will re write the Constitution. We we have a person that all indications show will be an orginalist. I think Levin is more interested in a fight than actually getting the judical "No" machine we need in the Suprems Court. I think Miers will be a solid money in the bank conservative vote. Since Supreme Court Judges only get one vote, how much more could Miers do? Maybe smack Ginsberg in the chops?

Time for Sen. Allen to get some balls and be a man: don't be ruled by hysterical whiners who are worked up to a frenzy by media elitists; use your own good judgement.

I'm not trying to be insulting here but what set of questions would a President ask that would let that President know how she feels about the Constitution?

Would he ask her about the implications of the Youngstown Steel decision for executive action? Or would he ask her whether the right of privacy has a textual basis in the Constitution?

It's not enough to ask someone if the they are an originalist. It's like asking someone if they believe in the Bible. The problem is in the details. I don't expect the POTUS to be fully acquainted with the implications of ConLaw. Where would he begin to explore her views?

Morris has run many successful political campaigns; both for Dems and for GOPers. He's usually wrong, when he talks about Hilliary, because he hates her so very much ( he has for a very long time!), I think that hatred clouds his reasoning. But, he has been pretty good about other things political. Dick is a mixed bag, but he was reasonable on Sean's show and made sense.

And you really nailed Mark's part of the show. LOL

I see no one wants to guess at this question, and I think its because alot of people fear the possible answer.

If Bush were to get a 3rd pick for SCOTUS - he's sending Gonzales up.

Levin was good, I heard this too. I don't agree with him at least not totally, I think Dick is right. But I am not a Dick fan, I am a Levin fan!

She is NOT "unknown" to Bush. And, contrary to popular opinion, it was HIS decision.

Maybe you should not be so easily frightened. Given Bush's judicial selections and the FACT this lady helped him select them there is no reason for fear on conservatives part. Now the Perpetually Pissed Off? They are never happy so who cares?

You are not familiar with the secular left religionists?

White Supremacists, for example, use selectivist Bible scripture to support their ideology. Radical gay/les also use the Bible, selectively and out of context, to support their own ideology. You aren't familiar with the various "liberal" clergy organizations? Or "liberal" churches?

These, I've written of above, ARE the radical, radical right to the radical, radical left.

No need for you to be sorry for what you don't know.

Those are not members of the Evangelical Christian movement at all. They are not even Christian for the most part any more than Jim Jones was. LOL.

"Hey! It was a good discussion.
Mark is right on about us conservatives and Dickie Toe Sucker is always right on in matters of political strategy. A couple of pro's going at it. Fun."

If I had to choose one, I'd pick Mark without hesitation. The area of non-communication seems to be that Morris sees it as a plus (or irrelevant) that we don't know anything about her, so he wonders why people are complaining. The people who are complaining (Mark, for instance) see the lack of information as the focal point of their complaints - as in "give me proof you're of the intellectual calliber to be on the Supreme Court, and give me proof that you believe in conservative issues, so I can support you as a conservative." Maybe that'll come -- maybe not.

It's unfair to her, perhaps, but after the very obvious brilliance and qualifications of Roberts makes Miers look inadequate - it would make almost ANYONE look inadequate. Most of us wanted (and expected) a heavyweight at this point, not a nice older lady who looked into GWB's eyes and gained his trust - because that means to trust HER we have to trust HIM, and that just isn't enough for some of us, not when a position of such importance is in play.

"The woman has no public support."

I'm public. I support her.

She has risen to the top of her field through hard work and intelligence, and she has the confidence of a President who has been unwavering in naming judges who fit his campaign promises.

Frandkly, I think it's time for an accomplished legal mind from the heartland -- someone who understands how most of America really lives -- to sit on the Court.

I don't care if her hair and her name are old-fashioned or if shallow people get upset over her eyeliner. I'm much more interested in her brain and in her intellectual integrity than in her looks.

I'm ready for commmon sense on the Court, and I think Harriet Miers may very well provide it.

Read this, all the way back to when the Mier's nomination was first made:

http://beldar.blogs.com/beldarblog/

The guy's a Houston attorney and might give you more background on Miers than you have apparently been able to find thus far.

That is, if you're interested in knowing more.

Wooptie dooo.

The most feared religious group for the Left is Evangelical Christians and they ain't talking about Left wing pretend Christians or the Identity movement. Total Red Herring.

When the RATS are shrieking about the Evangelicals you know damn well who they are talking about. The Terrorists in Iraq call themselves "Freedom Fighters" too, so what?
