Ann Coulter just took apart SCOTUS nominee on the Mike Rosen show (My report)
Ann Coulter's appearance on the Mike Rosen show, 850am KOA ^ | This morning, Mon. Oct. 4th | Report from Mike Rosen show

Posted on 10/04/2005 10:39:32 AM PDT by ajolympian2004

Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!

Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.

I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.

Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.

Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.

Frankly, given Ms. Miers purported loyalty to the President, she should have refused the appointment, knowing that his base would be enraged, and that she was too old.

I'm as mad as her as I am at him.

1. She lost some credibility when she trashed Roberts.

2. Calling someone "Bush's legal secretary" is a cheap shot.

3. I realize Ann has a degree from Cornell. I don't necessarily consider that a recommendation. Those of us out here in the Midwest are not that enthralled with the Ivy League schools and their product.

Exactly right. All three times.

Ann is not anorexic! Don't you have any reasoned arguments to make?

Yeah just admit that Coulter bashed Roberts when his appoitment was first announced.

BTW, if you think someone who is skin and bones in a land of plenty is not anorexic, the sky in your world must be orange.

Now how would you know that? Women as young as in their thirties have gone through menopause.

This boy is not a fighter and certainly not a hard charger. His path in life should have been on the board of some numbnut country club in Arlen TX that Hank Hill is trying to get into... Not running the nation.

Then don't vote for him again.

Anything other than a white male was the restriction under which he was operating; if one segment is taboo, the rest must be suspicious.

Are you saying you believe he's going to uphold Roe?

I don't know. Anybody who had indicated he/she would have overturned Roe would not have made it out of committee.

Thanks. Unlike many, yesterday I was disappointed but accepting of this nomination.

Notwithstanding the soothing words of Cheney and the President, today I am enraged.

I didn't work my ass off in 2000, 2002, and 2004 for this.

So what if they don't get confirm? What is this can't we all get along BS. If they don't confirm one send up an even more right leaning justice. Put the Supreme Court in limbo. Will the country fail? be torn apart? I doubt it. or maybe we might actualy exposed what the left means by the phrase out of the mainstream

This will turn out IMO like a less known but as conservative pro life version of Condoleezza Rice.

Condolezza Rice is CONSERVATIVE? What exactly does that word mean to people these days if she can be called CONSERVATIVE? Ms. Rice may not be a liberal, but she is a warm and squishy moderate on most things. Plus she is an anti-Semite in a most dangerous way.

Sorry, I've never played basketball so my analogies probably are not the best. I'm just not sure that basketball is the right analogy in the first place. It seems military strategy is sometimes better. For example, armies don't always put out their best if the enemy can be fooled into underestimating the opposing force. We don't really know Bush's strategy, do we? We don't know if she is a feint to draw the democrats into a compromised position, or if she is the real article intended for the bench. Either way, I am willing to see the hearings out. It seems to me you are already convinced that Bush is either a wimp or turncoat. I am not that cynical. Bush loves to be misunderestimated and I think we should not fall on our swords just yet. I may be totally wrong but I am willing to give this a little time to play out. And I stand by my position that the Court could use some common sense on it--especially to counteract Kennedy, Ginsburg and Souter. A woman who has had to take care of herself all her life, who has had to fight her own battles, can probably take on some of those Supremes.

But if he says "Roe is settled law", and you agree that he believes the right to privacy exists in the constitution, then Coulter was right.

You started off innacurate.....

Uh, nope.

Congress did not vote a formal declaration of war against the terrorists as specified in the Constitution:

Yes they did. Kerry, Schumer, Clinton, et. al., voted in the affirmative.

I respectfully disagree. The media could not protect the RATS from filbiustering JRB. A Supreme Court appointment is too newsworthy, too visible for the media to be able to shovel the RATS' dung under the rug.

Plus, we have the bully pulpit. The President could expose the liberals for the hypocrites they are in 5 minutes.

Ann spends too much time reading and espousing the liberal talking points lately.
What a spoiled brat!
