The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
"the media blackout on this is stunning."
Has been going on for quite a while now. The oil situation is much worse than we thing too I am afraid.
So glad you're okay. This is creepy. Mr. HR and I just got home from watching Texas Tech beat Kansas, and when I reade the thread title, I clicked on it just knowing it was going to be a tailgate party gone wrong (hold muh beer while I light the propane cooker type deal).
This sounds so much more serious and scary. Scarier yet due to the "media blackout" situation. Just so I have it straight: are bomb sweeps currently being done on the OU campus?

No need. Declare Islam a criminal organization and not a religion. Use the RICO Act to seize assets and property, burn down the mosques, jail the clerics and anyone else who opens their big mouths...
Real simple.
Because after the murderer has just blown himself up and murdered others with him the police and rescue etc. always show up at the scene.
....The second bomb is on a timer (or remote) and it blows up to murder rescue workers, police, medical, or anyone else.
well, I can see the media blackout being caused by the confusing set of facts available so far.
but I don't think we should look at the media blackout as some kind of conspiracy - the MSM would love to see a terror attack on US soil, they would use that against Bush. if a set of facts emerges, they will run with this, the mantra being "Bush cannot protect us at home" - it plays right into their cries of "iraq war distracts from the war on terror at home".
Hmmmmmmm....
Can you believe this sanitized headline at KTUL?
"Person Found Dead After Loud Boom At OU"
Are you saying that someone saw the person in pieces and that it wasn't some other debris, or because they could not identify that person as male or female right away?
And the democrats and other liberal muslim enablers are already plotting how not to report that the suspects are arab muslim males.
Amazing. Absolutely nothing on Drudge. Matt and his bathhouse buddies must be busy tonight...
Yes how about this. If Americans thought terrorists had done this then they might turn on a ceartin "group" of people. Tha t is probably all the MSM needs to hush this up.
Have an "ear witness" Talking on another board. He says that it was a deep boom, too big for a pipe bomb. He says that he has experience with pipe bombs. Considering the board, I'll lean toward believing him.

Good to get some real eyewitness accounts on this tonight. Glad you and yours are ok. Have been following this all night and the lack of info is stunning. My son has a best friend at OU that was at the game and heard it and then bought the 'official' line : "just a lone bomber committing suicide"..geez..I told him to call him back and tell him to stay at home tonight. Here is what my intution says:..it is either a muslim terrorist for real....or a really bad fraternity prank or hazing gone bad. I am actually hoping for the former at this point, because the implications of a bad hazing incident for all concerned are life long. Shudders, Pen

It's time to grab your whoop a$$, there, Revel. Keep a can in the car even.
You seem to have the only cool head here tonight .WAY too little information here yet to speculate.
It detonated near Cross is what we were told so you know where that is -- on one of our radio stations, they said the person was headed towards the stadium when it happened and by accounts of several people, two people took off running. Then they found the second bomb. Everyone around me jumped and said bomb because it was so loud.
First word we had was it was at the science center but we knew it wasn't Sarkey's because that is NE of the stadium and the sound definitely came more from the NW part of the campus if you are inside the stadium. It sounded like it was right outside the stadium.
