The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
I have a pic of the new bench replacement and even made a tinyurl for it earlier today, but it's awfully large and I haven't taken the time to figure out the dimensions to size it down to.
Here's the link anyway:

The dates on that association are 2002! I have heard they are not active on campus at all well at least not like other organizations.
Around 8 p.m.
Thanks! I'll be sure to include any photos I can...
I have been reading 8 o'clock but it was 7:20? I didn't pay any attention at the time when it happened -- probably should have.
Something else -- halftime show ended early by 7-8 minutes and the team came back on the field with four+ minutes left to go -- that is unusual in itself.
Game started at 6 p.m. First half seemed long and second half went fast from my recollection.
I haven't been following this thread for a while...
but I just turned on my local radio talk show...and the host said that he is got evidence that the suicide bomber WAS a jihadist...
I haven't read over the thread...I am going to listen to hear what he says...
Have you heard anything about this???
I have been hearing it along with the fact that the local media is not officially reporting because they cannot get their sources to go on the record. No one wants to be quoted. Scarey. Keep us posted!
When I first heard the news, I had an overwhelming sense of awe that it was prayer that kept this from being a horrible tragedy.
Check out #4026! If this was a lone suicide, the FBI would have ended this investigation right away not taken over as the lead agency IMHO.
I'm not suggesting that the FBI wait for one second. But it's more effective to keep this incident quiet while they investigate and set up traps to capture any co-conspirators.

That's great Liberty.
Can you please ping me to your summary?
Thanks, in advance.

Picked up this when I was on The Oklahoman website a few minutes ago:
Excerpts from the current story on The Oklahoman website:
Monday, investigators were seen questioning Hinrichs' neighbors who lived in Parkview Apartments on Sooner Drive, southeast of Lindsey Street and Stinson Avenue.
Norman police Sgt. George Mauldin, head of the department's bomb squad, said his team removed a "significant quantity of highly explosive material" from Apt. 506B.
The material, which he described only as "a solid," was detonated safely at the police firing range on Jenkins Avenue, south of State Highway 9.
Had the explosives detonated inside Hinrichs' apartment, Mauldin said, "damage would have been contained to that building. It may have blown out windows on buildings beyond that, but there would not have been structural damage."
FBI officials have refused to name Hinrichs' roommate.
Welch said he didn't know the roommate's name and had not seen him since early Sunday when residents were told to leave the building.
Ali Shakroun, who lives in an adjacent building, said he knew the roommate well enough to say hello to him but did not know his name.
Investigators at the scene identified Hinrichs from his wallet taken from his pants recovered at the scene.
Official identification will take more time, said Kevin Rowland, spokesman for the state medical examiner's office.
Identification will be made using DNA, Rowland said.
"There is no time frame on when the (official) identification will be made," Rowland said.
Investigators have refused to address whether the student may have intended to enter the football stadium.
