From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.
The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.
After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Bomb Defendant Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor
POSTED: 3:57 pm CDT September 26, 2005
UPDATED: 4:08 pm CDT September 26, 2005
OKLAHOMA CITY -- A University of Oklahoma student charged with bringing an explosive device to an airport pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge in federal court in Oklahoma City.
Charles Alfred Dreyling Jr. faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine at a future sentencing hearing.
Federal sentencing guidelines could recommend a prison term of as little as four months, but he could be eligible for some form of probation.
Dreyling, 24, was arrested in August at Will Rogers World Airport after security personnel noticed a suspicious object in his carryon bag as he was leaving for a family vacation with his parents.
Dreyling later told FBI agents the device -- a modified carbon dioxide cartridge filled with gunpowder -- was "basically a pipe bomb," according to court papers. He said he had forgotten it was in his bag.

I just don't think the govt (nor the media) wants anyone retaliating against muslims. Clearly, from everything they have said since 9/11.

It's not possible to argue the point since we already know what happened. We can say we thought anything at all when the first plane hit. AFAIK there is no way to prove we thought it. After the fact, we can all say we believed it was terrorists.
So, it's pointless to discuss.

I've been trying to find the source of the 'islamic web site' info regarding post 3627. No luck yet. Anyway, thank you for your summary, although I respectfully disagree with the conclusion, if the details are correct. FRegards....

Thanks for the info! I love reading non-fiction when it's something I'm interested in, and there's a lot of things I'm interested in. I'll keep that one in mind.

Sorry, didn't see that this is Dreyling, not Hinrichs! My mistake.

That's an interesting link that you posted.
Didn't that guy who was beheaded have a link to Norman, OK, also?

Great job of logically sifting through the tons of valid and bogus "facts" of this case.
I have read almost every FRpost on this event starting almost immediately after the game. And I would like to make one or two observations that might steer some of the logical conclusions away from specific areas.
First, I have been to many many OU games in the past 40 years and the west side of the stadium is NOT where one would go to maximize the casualties during the halftime exodus. Where he was located would, in my opinion be one of the least traveled sectors during halftime. Most of the gathering areas are NE and SE.
Secondly, from what I know about Dreyling from some who know him, I don't think he fits into this equation. I'm told he does amateur pyrotechnics and had recently worked a local event. If he's anything like my kids he carries practically everything he owns in his back pack. Ask some of your local airport maintenance people how many handguns they find in trashcans and stuffed elsewhere from forgetful passengers who don't have time to go back to the car.
I'm not saying that H-III wasn't trying to be a homicide bomber against the halftime crowd or that Dreyling wasn't involved for sure. But from what I know first and second hand, I think time spent on those angles is probably wasted.

NEIN is the same people that once laughably proclaimed a helicopter-borne tree trimmer a "radiation sensor"; one of a variety of amateur "pretend terrorism analysis" fantasy sites.Yes, I remember the "Tree Trimmer" fiasco - That one was debunked quickly. I still keep an eye on that site, but I keep one of these handy.

Is that where the teams board their buses?
