The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
The local media is not buying what the Administration is peddling. You can tell that by some of the questions they along with the OU paper are starting to ask. When Channel 9 interviewed the President of the Triangle Fraternity, he blew Boren's depressed angle right out of the water.
The picture said they were washing body parts off the bus, so I assume the buses couldn't have been too far from the explosion.
"we have no information that suggests that there is any additional threat posed by others related to this incident."
That could mean anything, from "they got the accomplishes" to "there were no accomplishes", to "We don't have a clue, including anyformation indicating that there is *not* any additional threat ...". I tend toward the latter. If they had anything, he'd have said so.
Sounds like Mayor Nagin all over again, huh?
You gotta blame somebody.
Islam. I'm not buying the college president's story. It came out too quickly and doesn't mesh with what other people are saying who knew him. If he was involved in Islam, then I blame him first and Islam second. If he was a dupe, or an innocent bystander, then I blame Islam. Really, though, it won't be clear who to blame for a while.

I genuinely wasn't aware, until this very moment, that there was a capsized (that's the word you actually meant, right?) boat anywhere near the football stadium. :)
What on earth is it you're attempting to convey here, exactly...? I'm being perfectly honest when I tell you, straightfaced, that I haven't Clue One what that sentence was intended to mean. Rephrase, please.
Yes, I understand. But a timer would not make sense for a football game. A remote detonation really wouldn't make sense to me either. And the spot doesn't make sense if you wanted to kill a lot of people.
I am open to the idea of a larger plan, but this whole thing is just screwy enough to be a lone suicide.
The main thing that makes me skeptical of that theory is that, so far as I know, David Boren is the only person advancing it.

Welcome to FR.
Believe their sources are correct. Too much Bravo Sierra coming out of the OU Administration for the local media to swallow right now.
It has the following caption:
A mug shot of Joel Henry Hinrichs III provided by the FBI
I'm thinking something to the effect someone else already posted like "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain..." Way too much going on, not enough being broadcast. Makes me suspicious. I hope they are developing some good leads, and will let us know when they've finished, but I'm not betting anything I can't afford to lose on it.
Well there goes your tin foil hat privileges!;)
I think we all are well aware that we don't have absolute proof of anything here. But why do you relentlessly pound us about it. We have some facts, and we have intuition. The truth will only play out if this story is not smothered.
Haven't read through yet... hopefully this is the bomb squad detonating the stuff they found in the kids' apartment.
OK...so you signed up today to defend the muslims? The hijackers don't represent Islam? Your handle is pretty interesting too. Enjoy your stay here.
That stuff apparently has a short shelf life, as the would-be second round of London bombers found out .. it mostly fizzled.
Also dangerous to make, apparently the Palestinians call it "Mother of Satan" or something like that.
So did he make it himself I wonder ?
despite how the thing is labeled, I'm pretty certain that is an OU ID photo. Mine has the same blue background, and if you enlarged it that much, I expect it would be just as fuzzy.
