The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

Who needs two bombs to commit suicide?

" Be Prepared".
"This could well be terrorism and if it is, I think the media silence is b/c they are trying to flush out an accomplice."
You know it could be that the math genius on the TV program called "Numbers" is still working on his calculations. Give him a few more days ;o)
I have talked to several people and not one of them knows anything about this being routine. If they do it, it is the quietest thing on campus and no one knows about it or has seen groups of bomb sniffing dogs.
Yesterday a few people did see dogs around the stadium but that is not the norm.

That would be a waste! ;)
Joel? So much for accuracy of about 95% of these posts including mine.
Our three local papers. There is just not a whole lot of news being released right now.
A while ago when Americans first went into Afghanistan, there were quite a few reports of the pederasty common there. Mature men apparently often befriend young adolescent boys, who appreciate the "friendship", and are then seduced into sodomy. The boys are then ashamed to admit it, and continue often due to fear and shame. It's apparently an "understood" but not stated kind of cultural thing. In fact, it's one of the cultural practices the Taliban tried to stamp out (instance of "even a broken clock is right twice a day" kind of thing).
FR had a picture of a couple of Afghani men dressed up with turbans and makeup. Quite revolting.
Additionally, when Muslims controlled much of India, one of the practices which shocked and disgusted the Hindus was the not uncommon practice of pederasty among the Muslim elite.
Yeah, I could hear the virgins sighing with relief...
The lone kook is not a strategy for flushing out accomplices but for covering up conspiracies. As Mort Sahl so ably put it, in America our education discourages people to write, but every time there is an assassination the assassin leaves a diary. He said you cannot tell me the CIA is not working overtime. That of course is satire and ridicule. But when the officials start using "lone" or in this case "individual" so early in an event beware. That is code for cover-up.
Did you see #2551? Makes me suspect it may not have been suicide, even. Maybe an engineering student playing with dangerous stuff cuz he couldn't get a date.
(Dad's an engineer, I can make geeky engineer jokes!)

This commentator is upset with David Boren who he accuses of suppressing any finding that terrorism is involved.
They bring in bomb detector dogs? Do you guys see them? I have been around OU on game days and have not seen the dogs. Yesterday several people saw dogs around for the first time. Not saying they don't sweep, but no one I can find knows anything about it except for yesterday.
Engineering? I'd have to guess the guy flunked...
I'm not sure I'd take the OU Daily's word the sun would rise tomorrow, but I didn't see anything there that is impossible, this trip, anyway.
Sorry, #2558
I searched. There is a Hinrichs. No home page for him.
