The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
double suyside?
The game is over now. Given the fact that the bomber exploded across the street from the stadium, it makes sense that the media is supressing the story. We'll know for sure when they surpress the nationality and religion of the bomber.
Ramadan starts on Tuesday, October 4.
The islamists have already stated on multiple sites that they intend "something" during Ramadan.
I cannot believe that a rocket scientist has found himself on the campus police force.
Another article -- this one gives the time, and says that people in the stadium were NOT allowed to exi, which is in variance with the other article. I don't know which article is more current.

NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday night, officials said.
Sgt. Gary Robinson of the OU Police Department confirmed there had been one fatality after an explosion that occurred about 7:20 p.m. during the second quarter of the OU-Kansas State football game.
The identity of the person who was found dead outside the botany-microbiology building was not immediately available.
Law enforcement officers cordoned off an area west of the stadium and were using bomb-sniffing dogs and a robot to search the area.
Authorities were not allowing anyone to exit the stadium.
I'm not gonna be Green Lantern. Ive heard "things".
I think I'd rather avoid the usual hysteria and rumor mongering that follows in the wake of initial reporting, and wait until we have concrete details to follow up on this with.
I know there was an explosion.
One person said dead.
Suspicion it was an explosive device though not confirmation?
Wait for details.
Thank you.
Looks like K State bombed.
Ramadan this year is Oct 4 to Nov 2.
I heard 2 devices detonated 2 blocks from stadium...nothing further.
Until "multiple devices" are confirmed, that's more sound a theory than anything else. There are often volatile minds on our college campuses. Especially a suicidal mind right after the Bali attack. Best to wait for the facts to pour in before fingering Al Queda. Remember the kid who flew a small plane into a building in Florida shortly after 9/11?
Where did you hear that?
Regarding my #133-
I was wrong. Building is close to Stadium. I was looking first at the baseball stadium. Doh!
But it's near enough for newspeak such as "Bush was near the hurricanes that killed blacks in Louisiana. In fact, the hurricanes got their marching orders after visitng Bush's brother in Florida before setting off on their deadly paths..."
I agree.....No news is not good news.
The media isn't reporting this at all.
