I am heading down to the Rally site now, to help with setting up - which began at 5am today. I didn't know if someone would post a live thread later. My apologies if I have stepped on any toes.

Yeah--I got the message from another FReeper and cancelled the download for realplayer while it was still
slowly loading at 49% completion.
Thanks tho, for the tip.
I am a female, married to a conservative man (the best kind of man, actually, imo, the only kind of real man..hehe) and also enjoy sharing a drink with friends!
It we ever get to the Star Trek kind of transportation, lol, can you imagine the FreeRepublic gatherings!!!! What a hoot!

"Ahh, nice to know the Potomac is in the hands of a grown-up who takes their duty seriously and can keep a secret! (But admit it, you were dying to tell us, right? /teasing) ;-)"
It probably could have been picked up by the press--but if someone is too lazy to get the President's schedule on my watch, I'm not going to give away freebies.
I don't do much. The real heroes, in my opinion, are the men and women of Station Washington, from the seaman two weeks out of boot camp through a lot of fine petty officers and the Chief (hope you're 100%) and the XO and CO; and the fine men and women of Sector Baltimore, whom I work with on a regular basis. I get to sit in a cozy radio shack and listen to radios; they're out in the cold and dark and wet with M-16s and M-240s, securing our cities.
I also want to salute my fellow Auxiliarists, who, for love of country and their fellow men and women, give up their precious free time to enable a "gold side" Coastie to be on patrol, and who make sure recreational boating and fishing are safe sports. In a way, they are double volunteers; the perks are relatively small, and getting up at Oh-dark-thirty is hard on older bones, but they do it!
May God protect our nation, and may God specifically protect our Coast Guard. Grant us, o Lord, that we may always be true to our motto, "Semper Paratus," and give us protection from the wind and the wave and the violence of man. We pray this in the name of Him Who calmed the waves and the water, Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

In arabic his message is easier to understand than all of yesterday's morons put together.
Thank you for the new tagline!!!
i'm sure it's easier to understand than any lefty-speak will translate!
I'm sure he's not there at that microphone by accident.

I won't use Real Player; it downloads spam and spyware to your computer and tries to take over all your media programs. Not to mention being started by a HUGE leftie contributor.

Haven't read through all 1500 replies yet...
A few other events that significantly impacted the potential number of folks who would turnout for a Sunday afternoon rally in DC, even supporting the military, are: the President's Cup golf tournament in northern Virginia, the NASCAR race in Dover, Delaware, the NFL Sunday football games, etc. Add to that the nation's focus on the hurricane Rita's aftermath and higher fuel prices and you come up with a scenario where only 400+ folks (from what I've read so far) showed up.
In the end my opinion for low turnout was unfortunate timing.
Glad C-SPAN covered the event though. Can't wait to watch the on-line replay!

Anyone else up to watch the replay?
To: LibertyRocks
I am; missed the early part of the rally and really wanted to see it.
Do you know which CSPAN is carrying it?
To: GeorgiaBushie
To: LibertyRocks
Thanks! I found it and am looking forward to catching all of it.
To: GeorgiaBushie
I missed the first part as well. Not sure how long I'll be up to watch it... getting sleepy already! LOL
To: LibertyRocks
I know what you mean, until a couple of minutes ago I was fighting to stay awake. Really wanted to hear from the Gold Star Families.
Thanks for being here with me.
To: GeorgiaBushie
Oh, you're welcome. I'm grateful to CSPAN for covering the rally for us... it's refreshing after seeing all the coverage for the "other side".
To: LibertyRocks
Tried watching a little of the "other side" but it made my hubby mad and he made me change the channel.
To: GeorgiaBushie
LOL I can only take so much, and its getting less and less each day... I didn't watch their rally yesterday, except for a clip of Cindy herself speaking that I found here. Her speech (if you could call it that) was really pathetic...
To: LibertyRocks
Becky Davis was great!!! I am glad she chose to speak up.
