I wonder if NO even HAD an emergency operations center. I don't remember bulletins from there. I'm sure the Houston-Galveston one is up and running.
He still seems not the least bit concerned about his residents safety.
Why should he? He has his evacuation in place....
Head to his new home in Frisco, Texas.
>>Now he's moaning about the Fema dude, saying he's crowned himself mayor. What a peice of work. He still seems not the least bit concerned about his residents safety.<,
I'm TV deprived at the moment. Did he say this in his news conference?
Amen. LOL
Somebody asked. Or because it's a named storm? I guess because that means its a TS or Hurr. A little gulf coast penalty, I think he said.
I notice quite a few snails on my house, crawling straight up the walls, looking for high ground, I think.
No, I agree with you, still way to early predict landfall and Rita is still a T.S. far far from a Carla like storm.
Jefferson Parish did, I remember. The Emergency Operations Director said that he was in charge when someone asked if Martial Law was being declared. He said, it pretty much already was and he was it. Which made me wonder if Aaron Broussard had any authority later.. I was confused later when he was crying. I thought he knew his Emergency Operation Director was the one in charge.

Did he start cussing again?
I don't think he's on just yet.
Well, there you have it. We may have it in Texas by next year. It is not in the standard Texas HO policy.
I have been amazed at the TOTAL lack of respect that he has shown to the Admiral and the POTUS....
whether he agrees or disagrees, likes or doesn't like them..the LEAST he should do, as an elected official, is show respect for others...
He is a disgrace for letting so many people die, but his lack of humility and respect just makes him contemptible in my book.
That's what planning and quick reaction does for you.

Thanks
Now that be a miracle *fizzle*...King Ranch would be perfect...Let's pray for that.
Aaarrrrgh! Excellent. In honor, I intend to preface all my posts with Aaarrrgh!
Ken Weathers with the Weather Channel (that's his real name!) said on Hannity that over the Keys it will be a Cat 1 or 2 and that now is the time to evacuate as it could do a lot of damage and knock out big bridges. He said Lake Ponchatrain in La. is definitely going to get a storm surge no matter what and the people should not come back to their homes. He said it has the potential to be as strong as Katrina! (Cat 4 or 5)
