Kennedy -- civil rights

Leahy -- Bybee torture memo

Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment

Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties

Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade

Feingold -- limits of executive powers

Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

Specter is kind of being an ass...but he IS giving Roberts a bit of cover....later when the Demon-Rats ask him questions, Roberts can give a long, long, long answer that basically says, "I already answered that question when Senator Specter asked me."

It's so intertesting that the left has their assigned attack topics and conservatives have not done the same or Specter has chosen not to do the same. He's creepy.

Roberts handles himself great. He'll just have to deal with the zingers and sarcasm of the creeps. Off topic, but what's up with that horrible picture of Roberts on Drudge?

Interesting point...

Man, Roberts is one smart dude!

He is running rings around Spectre and, in the process, showing that he will not be intimidated by slickness.

Specter: "I'm not going to ask you whether you would over-turn Roe..."

Bold face lie... Every question he is asking is JUST THAT!

I wish the Roberts hearings were going to be televised on all networks around the clock, because Judge Roberts is going to comport himself with superb calm and intellect; it is educational for the American people to learn a line of logic and reasoning that they never hear from the MSM; the RATS always look sophomoric, pedantic and ridiculous; and it will pave the way for the next USSC nominee.

The MSM is deliberately treating the Roberts confirmation as a non-event so as to make the next confirmation battle much rougher for Bush.

Arlen Scottish Law Specter starts grilling about Stare Decisis....abortion....

Specter's the one to watch. None of the Dims will vote Roberts out of committee, and Specter's made noise suggesting he's not fully supportive of Roberts. His vote determines whether or not Roberts gets a vote in the Senate.

So far, it doesn't sound good. We're going to have to gang up on him hard to vote yes.

Judge John Roberts will be confirmed. He's not only brilliant, but very slick as well. It will be very interesting to see him up against Chappy Kennedy and his bloviating colleagues.

I'm not slacking off. My boss and I agreed that I'll track these hearings as long as it doesn't affect my work. He's a good man.

Now Specter brings in the concept of "SUPER STARE DECISIS"...this is a concept that ONLY applies to ABORTION according to Sphincter, er, I mean "Specter".

What a joke.

John Roberts: That phrase isn't in Supreme Court decisions.

Specter: Maybe it should be....

Yes, but there are some who are saying that there is a method to Arlen's madness today.

I think he might be guilty of showing off abit :)

This hearing is being more widely broadcast than any other Supreme Court hearing in history, maybe with the exception of Clarence Thomas.

The fact is, the networks would be inundated with calls from upset viewers if Oprah were pre-empted for this boring stuff!

Considering that Specter said he wouldn't ask Roberts about Roe v Wade, this is astounding!

Right, and they think they can get Bush to back off appointing a real conservative. My money is not on the MSM.

He'll slice and dice and the Dems won't even know he's eating them for lunch.
