The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:

Kennedy -- civil rights

Leahy -- Bybee torture memo

Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment

Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties

Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade

Feingold -- limits of executive powers

Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

>>>>That's preposterous.

You don't know anything about the Romer v Evans case. I do. I live in Colorado and was right in the political middle of the case as it was happening. Romer v Evans was one of the great historical decisions by the USSC. Roberts said he found nothing immoral about assisting militant gay activists in overturning the will of the people of Colorado. I find that extremely disturbing and preposterous that any conservative wouldn't have a problem with Roberts behavior in this specific case.

Sounds like Biden's hearing. He did most of the talking (80%+). Roberts never got a chance.

The contrast of Roberts trying to be engaging and discussing the law (which he so loves) with the panel and watching Kennedy/Biden's bully act speaks volumes as to which are the gentlemen one can look up to and emulate and those who have occupied the seat far too long. If dems could look past their bias, they too should be embarrassed.

Here's a thread you might find more congenial:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1483584/posts

That thread has a column by Joe Farah claiming he was wrong about Roberts -- that Roberts isn't Souter, he worse -- Breyer!!

By Friday Farah will be claiming he's really another Earl Warren!

Hornbook law sounds like a term of derogation as it was used in the hearings today. As if it applies to the practice of law as it was before it became a formal profession in the 1800s when anybody could declare himself to be a lawyer.

Then this is what you need:

Be sure to get a second pack of darts; then you don't have to keep getting up to walk over to the TV to get your darts back to reload.

I'm surprised Biden didn't fly out of the hearing room. Biden's an arrogant liberal jackass.

Kennedy right now responding on C-SPAN (9:59 am PDT). Quick drink. Photo op. Back to the panel.

You mean to tell me that Tedward can't afford to customize an insulin pump, to keep the "juices" flowing?

Everyone can be certain that the more shrill the RATS scream, the more effective Roberts has been.

They have nothing on Judge Roberts, haven't laid a glove on him.

Yes, I heard Ted ask Roberts if race or gender should determine treatment of Americans in pursuit of life liberty pursuit of happiness blah blah blah(Teds words, not mine.) Anyway, I was thinking, does marital status have an affect on access to emergency services in a life threatening emergency??

BIDEN: Judge Roberts, do I have a cause of action against my plastic surgeon for a bad hair implant. I mean those original plugs were atrocious. What do you think? Constitutionally speaking, of course?

Did you notice Kennedy is not at his seat?

No he was in the back of the room doing an interview on CNN while a Republican asked questions.

No surprise there, if you want the DUmbocRAT point of view exclusively just tune in to CNN.

Although I was SHOCKED when FOX left the Presidential news conference to go back to the hearings. pMSNBC and CNN stayed with the Prez until it was finished.

FOX is beginning to suck, just like the rest.

No, this is a GOOD day for us.

The Democrats look like fools.

That is where the mainstream media branch of the Democrat Party comes in handy.

With some careful editing before the evening news, the Democrats will look reasonable and eloquent while Roberts appears "extreme".
