The Dem playbook
The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

They don't make Senators like they used to :(
Does he ever have a good hair day? He's spent a fortune on it, hasn't he?
No, this is a GOOD day for us.
The Democrats look like fools.
My guess is he longs for a career in theatre (pronounced: thee-ahh-tah) but didn't get the lead in his high school play and settled for student body secretary. The rest is bad history.
If I had taped Biden I bet he had more clock time than Roberts did in answering.
In the old west, Biden would be a snake oil salesman. A traveling medicine show shyster.
I moved just over 2 years ago. I spent a couple months in College Park, MD before that. I love my home state, but some people there, given Biden's reelections....
Not at all. I'm just arguing the validity of John Roberts as a nominee for the USSC. Frankly, I believe he will be approved by the Senate. But that doesn't mean I sit by in silence. If the SC doesn't evolve into a more conservative, originalist and constitutionalist court in the short term, I see America's future filled with more liberalism and socialism. We have to turn the tide and we have to turn it soon.
Exactly. This presser should be good.
mmmmmmmmm...pistol whipping....(wipes drool)
Mary Jo. Go head reporters, ask about her death and was he as worried as he is now.
Oh no, Fat Teddy up to the mike for grandstanding. Says Roberts answers were 'extremely disappointing' on voting rights. Stupid asinine jerk.
Figures.
Rush was gobsmacked a senator would leave during the hearing......although Rush and we are gobsmacked in theory only.
We know Teddy too well (and CNN, also).
Leni
The 'Rats used to have Senator Heflin, who came across as a slow-talking dumb old country hick judge but who was in fact sharp as a tack (as a lot of those slow-talking dumb old country hick judges are -- at least the ones who aren't actually dumb!) A very dangerous combination IMHO.
Their bench now is shockingly weak.
Arlen normally annoys the heck out of me
But he did good with stepping in and slapping the Dems to let Roberts answer the questions
Schmuk up?
last fifty yeahhhs.
