Just heard on FOX that Blanco refused to allow supplies to be brought to the stadium, "Because they wanted all those people to leave, and they didn't want to create a magnet to bring others there, by bringing in food and water!"""
There *is* a link some pages back to a
streaming video of the segment.
Yes, we have VIDEO AND AUDIO.

I thought you didn't know any of those words! (In a pinch, shucky darns will work.)
Yes, and what happened in NJ did not cause "we the people" to bat an eye about the immorality of the whole situation. NJ people might still support McGreevey if he could have sought a third term.
Here is some of the facts:
snip---
IEM, Inc., the Baton Rouge-based emergency management and homeland security consultant lead the development of a catastrophic hurricane disaster plan for Southeast Louisiana and the City of New Orleans under a more than half a million dollar contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
IEM (Innovative Energy Management) has worked with a dozen federal agencies and ten state emergency management agencies.
The company, based in Baton Rouge, is a client of The Livingston Group, a D.C. lobbying firm run by Bob Livingston, who was a representative from Louisiana's 1st district, which includes New Orleans suburbs--but you might remember him as the would-be Speaker of the House who was forced out of office by Larry Flynt.
NOLA Disaster Plan
Then on About.com comes this information:
snip
US Information Guide Robert Longley has details of the July 2004 planning exercise that IEM, Inc. ran for FEMA; the exercise involved the expected impact if fictional Hurricane Pam were to hit New Orleans. It is not clear just what the federal goverment bought with its $500 million, but a completed or workable plan doesn't appear to have been part of it.
snip--
In May of 2004, IEM included James Lee Witt Associates, LLC in their proposal to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for developing a FEMA Catastrophic Plan for Southeast Louisiana and the New Madrid Seismic Zone.
anip--
After the proposal was submitted to FEMA, James Lee Witt Associates was not approached again by IEM, nor did JLWA have any involvement whatsoever in the project.
The document this weekend seemed to dismiss the no further involvement comment here -- which actually came about on September 5th, when Witt found out his name was being bandied about on the internet and his "people" started damage control and suddenly they issued this statement on September 4th:
September 4, 2005 -- WMR contacted by spokesperson for James Lee Witt. Yesterday, WMR reported that according to a June 3, 2004 press release from Innovative Emergency Management (IEM), Inc. it received a FEMA contract to develop a "Catastrophic Hurricane Disaster Plan for New Orleans & Southeast Louisiana."
The IEM press release stated that among its team partners was James Lee Witt Associates. Witt was FEMA director under President Clinton and he restored that agency's disaster recovery effectiveness after President George H. W. Bush's ineffective response to Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
According to Witt's spokesperson, James Lee Witt Associates continues to be fraudulently listed on IEM's web site as a team partner for the over $500,000 FEMA contract work.
The IEM press release that contains the erroneous information has been disappearing and reappearing, another sign of something suspicious with the contractor.
FYI at the end of this last excerpt they said they thought Karl Rove was responsible for Witt's name being used with IEM.
Eventually the truth makes it's way around the world.
The BIG LIE got there first, but better late than never.
So your opinion is that his scathing attack was either based entirely on emotion, or because of pressure from the Governor?
(No excuse for it in either case, but slightly more understandable).
Why did he not order a mandatory evacuation then, and use the buses according to plan BEFORE the Hurricane..........even when the President called him?
He seems very weak kneed at best...........and because of that, he has lost his city, and is in part responsible for the deaths of thousands.
I would not want to have to deal with his guilt for his negligence......
I think Campbell's father was the insurance commisioner. All our commissioners of insurance go to jail after their term. Sort of a tradition.
What everyone doesn't understand about La is the extent to which Louisianians detest outsiders. There is a clannishness. La people will defend their crooks to the hilt. And if you are an outsider, they will defend the devil himself if you come in and criticize them.
And state govt is run on the rules of nepotism. You get into power and all your friends, in laws, relatives, cousins, college roomies,,every one is on the payroll or gets govt contracts with big rake offs and kick backs.
I got a speeding ticket, a bad one, right after we moved back here. No less than six people offered to have it fixed and it was fixed. We got an assessment for taxes on our house and I complained about it. I was asked in genuine horror if I didn't know I was supposed to bribe the assessor. The law is routinely broken, people get away with all kinds of crap here that would never pass in another state.
The state is corrupt from top to bottom. And nobody wants it changed much because everyone benefits!!!!
Which makes 13% all the more remarkable...
In case you missed this, Do you still think Brown should be fired?
Maybe the black folks rescued from the Superdome were right and it really was 'ethnic cleansing'. That the state wanted to get rid of it's poor blacks.
Blanco's actions are still no excuse for the Mayor's lack of leadership.
Chris Roberts, a Jefferson Parish councilman, said that Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco's husband flew to New Orleans specifically to persuade Broussard to back away from the plan to allow residents to visit their homes. That attempt failed, Roberts said.
I don't know what motivated him.
But he has to live here. And you don't cross the power here if you want to live here and be a politician.
I think we will know because he talks. And that is a good thing.
She just wanted to get those "black people" out before they messed up the place. (sarcasm)
Ann, I am not sure of the first name "Mike" but Campbells father whatever his name is has been indicted for fraud. Not sure what it involved.
Is anyone watching this loser Elinor Tatum on O'reilly? Geesh!!
And while Fox News is reporting this, CBS's old man, Bob Schieffer and that ugly Gloria Borger are still blaming FEMA.
By the way, it was confirmed by the President of the Red Cross, again on Fox News.
What a flaming ignoramous she is!

Campbell Brown is most likely NOT "one of us" politically. She comes from a very democratic family in Louisiana. Her father was a Dem Insurance Commissioner in the Governor Edwin Edwards administration. They were both sent to prison. Jim Brown is out now. Edwards is still serving time.
