London 06.09.05 | A church located southeast of Caracas in "Barrio El Winche" of Fila de Mariches and attended by the congregation of Laura Sisters and the Salesian Fathers has been invaded and taken over by supporters of Hugo Chavez, El Universal reports today. Members of Endogenous Battle Units (Unidades de Batalla Endógenas or UBE) -a Chavez invention to create a new democratic model of popular support- expressed that the action was taken in order to establish, in the church, a post of military security that shall be manned by Venezuela's National Guard.

Gramsci wasn't 'tupid. He must have written this tongue-in-cheek knowing that religion is a lot more likely to reemerge from the ashes than any logical, artificial construct such as Communism.

Why do people call him Reverend Jackson?

It's only the MSM that call him Reverend. They're the only ones that can do it with a straight face.

Gramsci believed that Leninist tactics would not be effective in Western Europe because the economic and social structure of the West was different from Czarist Russia.

Therefore he advocated a "war of position" versus a "war of maneuver."

Chavez may believe that the Venezuela of 2005 is as different from the Italy of 1935 as the Italy of 1935 was from the Russia of 1917.

Trying to imagine what Henry Clay would be declaming about this situation right about now. And Sam Clemens, too. Both of them, if brought back right now, would probably be amazed. Clay would be too much in control of himself to say this, but Clemens might just utter a WTF.

Actually Marx lied. It's Communism that
is the Opiate of the massess.

and Socialist Democratism that is the
methamphetamine of the great unwashed.

CUBA II...............

Nope!

Far more powerful and dangerous.... Hugo has a lot more money (in the form of oil) and when people are poor, they look up to those that have the money.

It's going to be a long hard struggle before Hugo is gotten rid of.

Democratic is the magic word. A word that is fast becoming discredited - sort of like the word "Democrat," come to think of it.

Isn't this the "Reverend" Jackson's friend??

Jackson is probably the one that advised Hugo on taking over the church.

I still, to this day, don't know why more Conservatives didn't jump to the defense of Pat Robertson. Granted, I'm not always down with what comes out of his mouth... but he has never said anything more right then, 'why don't we just assasinate thugs like this'.

This was once the policy of our Government.. the Lib hero JFK tried to have Castro plugged.

I'll never understand Lib's as long as I live, they scream about human rights in this country (which are a delicate balance between the banal and the bacchanal) yet when something so basic as worship or church is overrun by the state in a foreign land, they don't give an s---.

Donelly,

Good qusetion, I've been wondering that myself.

As a Christian, I'm deeply offended that this twerp calls himself, "A Man of God".

Jackson sucks. God will expose this creep one day. That's for sure.

Out of the two, I would say North Korea.

You know, absolute dictatorship?

The difference between Cuba and Spain is that Cuba's Franco died unanimously at the Bay of Pigs thanks to JFK cowardice. Venezuela needs a Franco to step up to the plate.

How hard could it be to take over a church?

"Jackson sucks. God will expose this creep one day. That's for sure."

I think he already was, but the Libs forgave him.
