"An MSNBC report earlier in the day said rescue helicopter personnel when they are lowered to rescue people, are finding drunk people, and people armed with guns. This report was by Ron Blum. "They are, and they have been since last week. FEMA personnel tried getting food and water to the convention center which seems to be the center of the media's evil propaganda only to be shot at by looters. They were forced to air drop and hope for the best. We don't see or hear this stuff from the mass media.

Sounds like they need to work on their aim!My first thought, also. Then I remembered some of the threads regarding police (lack of) marksmanship and decided they should be lauded for hitting any of their targets.
That is, assuming the thugs were armed and guilty of anything other than protecting what is theirs.

I'm up for the left to keep up their allegations of racism too. The American people aren't buying it, and the more democrats make wild accusations, the more they lose their credibility. Even wienies on the left know George Bush isn't a racist. Charges that he abandoned New Orleans because it's mostly black is ridiculous on it's face, especially since only that city, out of the entire 90,000 square mile area is making the charge.
Shame shame on elected democrats who don't tell their black members to shut up. You'd think their ministers at least, would caution them about bearing false witness. But wait! It's the left leaning, hate filled preacher men who are most guilty of doing just that.

cops wouldn't open up unless they were fired on first...+++++
In NO, anything is possible.
To: RTINSC
Why does the police have to wait to be fired on first? If they were told, the bad guys, to drop their weapons and they didn't, kill them. Its simple as that. A police officer does not have to be shot first to before he can shot back. Thats the way it is everywhere not just N.O.

Just as I thought. You don't have an answer.
You're on FR so you're obviously interested in learning what is going on - in N.O. and elsewhere. Other than personal FReeper accounts, where do you think most of the information you get comes from? Maybe you could define for me an example of MSM in N.O. and an example of non-MSM in N.O.
I think you just want to hear and read things you agree with. Boring!
To: SpringheelJack
Under "normal" circumstances, I'd be agreeing with you. This, what is going on, is NOT normal circumstances.

I am anxious about this- and hope these people were killed for CAUSE. The most likely scenario is that armed persons kept advancing with weapons in a threatening position and were shot CAUSE they didn't obey "Drop it" or "Stop!".

It is always easier to retain control than regain control.
Many more of these incidents are required before order is restored than would have been the case if order was maintained.
The politicians who let this situation develop via their lack of proactive action shall now howl the loudest as those on the ground does what needs to be done in order to restore civility and security to those innocents who were abandoned by their "leaders".
Anyone who blames the president for this fubar situation automatically outs him/herself as an idiot.

I just got my refuge family. Safe and esconsced in my guest house.
And the husband is a personal injury lawyer from NO. I asked would he sue me and he said the stairwell might just trip him. Then he cackled maniacally.
My husband is already losing patience.
