Caution: the opening of "This Week" has a taped voice saying "Gosh durn," but without the euphemism.
Later, Landrieu acuses the President of "taking photo ops."
Wow. Extended panel time on FNS this morning - 45 minutes!
Brit's BACK!
He could more easily ask the Governor and Mayor these very questions. BUT HE NEVER WILL.
A-hole Russert is hammering the head of FEMA because supplies were not in place in NOLA before the hurricaine. Excuse me, but that is the city, county and state's responsibility. Give it a rest!!
Maybe they know their leaders could not cope with all of this and cannot see how the Bush Administration can.
Mara's replacement wants Bush to nominate Roberts as Chief Justice????
Is Britt Hume there?
Chertoff is slamming him back! Or trying to. I hope he gets him with the buses.
I am sure that the President will give Schumer's suggestion the consideration it deserves.
Is Chertoff setting the record straight with him, or atleast trying to?
Yes, I saw that. They had to get the inmates out of jail.
But I don't think that's why they're building that jail, I really don't.
First, I heard but cannot prove, that the inmates in question were taken to ANOTHER jail in another state.
Second, if this were the case they certainly wouldn't rebuild this jail IN New Orleans at this time.
I believe it's part of the plan to continue this evacuation. Because at this point there's various homeowners left still in their homes and there's the CRIMINALS out and about and looting their heads off.
What surprises me, though it shouldn't, is I would never have thought of the necessity of building a jail first thing like they're doing.
Evidently it's part of the disaster plan. First, evacuate as much as possible. Second, build a jail or someplace to house recalcitrant citizens or just plain criminals so they're not out and about and adding to the mayhem.
Just a fascinating little factoid.
Y'all do know that a lot of the looting was done by COPS?
Right before they turned in their badges. I suspect these will be the first folks in that brand spanking new jail.
Yep, Brit's back.
Chertoff explaining that his people got on television on Saturday to urge people to leave and that it is the city officials who should have used buses to get people out.
He is. Russert is trying as hard as he can to pin blame on the feds.
Russert tries to lay blame for the pre-storm evac on the FED.
Chertoff reminds him that that is a state and local function.
[Fed cannot come in until asked -- state autonomy issue.]
Is that true, Chertoff is slamming back?..Repub's better get out there and start defendng this Admin with the truth!
Thanx for the warning.
