2 teams of Delta Force operators have been dropped into New Orleans. Hopefully this will make the MSM news. Sounds like the heavy guns have come to help.

Did somebody repeal Posse Commitatus?
A representative from the DOD in the interview with Chertoff of Fox news just mentioned Posse Commitatus and that there were ways around it. He said the military can advise the police, that the national guard is best trained to handle the situation.

Why in the world would Delta Force go into New Orleans? Did UBL wash up on a ship or something??? Loose nukes? This is ridiculous...

I find it strange that somebody in "Delta Force" would call up his sister and say "I'm goin' in".
Second I find it strange that she would past it on. And really weird would be the next person who posts it for the world to see.
Oh, well. What ever happened to going and coming without people knowing you were gone.

There's a Delta story that some desk jockey wanted a team to HALO into the mediterranean and SCUBA it to shore to deliver a radio to the US Embassy in Beirut in the 80's. The operator told him something to the effect of FU and the horse, etc. and told him: "We'll fly commercial into Jordan and then drive to Beirut to deliver your damn radio".
At any rate, Army SF also have underwater capabilities.

Wow, a whole 20-30 guys - I don't care how well trained they are, it they ain't going to do squat
WOW! I think we need some Freeper education on the Delta Force! I mean, if it's true - a 20-30 member team - then the looting in New Orleans is history!! God bless our Delta Force and I am on your team!!

I think you're right. An FBI SWAT team can handle a rescue in this situation. These rioters don't have that much firepower or expertise, and there's essentially zero probability that a Delta force soldier would discuss a current operation with anyone outside his unit.

This should be taken down. 99.9% chance it's BS and Presser by AG and Sec/HS said nothing about it.
This type of thing makes FR look stupid.

True. And not a moment too soon. I see National Guard to be deployed, too. Good.

"elite NG unit instead?"
The only "elite" NG unit I can think off are the full time chair warmers who get all the schools, awards and promotions, they think they're elite, but they would bleed to death from a paper cut.

2 teams of Delta Force operators have been dropped into New Orleans. Violation of Federal law if true. Do two wrongs make a "right"?

I hope the story is true, and I hope Delta's mission is to take out bad guys.
One thing I worry about is store keepers and home owners defending thier property, they are armed too. But I am certain any SF's unit would be able to tell the diference between law biding citizens defending private property and criminals.

Impossible. Before any briefing, they go "Lockdown-Sterile." Ever since the Son Tay Raid was blown, they are told to report, "bunk & junk" but with no idea as to the mission, then go into lockdown before any mission data is released.

Do you think the looters are lurking? The newshogs lurk. And transistor radios still work.
I don't think it's ever wise to post inside information about military operations. Period.
If Delta Force is en-route, they'll make their presence known in a time and place and manner of their choosing. Let's keep it that way.
