walking on hot pavement that is perhaps in the 85 degrees with extreme high humidity and no drinking water, along with carrying children, elderly or even worse, sick family members, would make it an impossible journey! You travel in the evening and early morning as best you can. It will be miserable. People around the world in worse conditions have done it before when it is a matter of survival.

Interesting - you got "rescinded" correct, but not "hear" or "sight." Must be some strange side-effect of non-phonics reading education.

Because most of the looters and thugs are african americans. How many whites did you see looting? Some, yes, but not many.

The rest of the state for the most part has changed on a local and regional level. It is not like this all over. My uncle used to say that the only thing he would vote for regarding taxes for NO is for dynamite to blow up the levees.
The state's resources have been funneled there for generations. It's been going to a black hole. I mean last year for example, year the Orleans Parish School board couldn't find 45 million dollars. If they salvage the books of NO they will find the misuse of funds on every level of operation. It's been corrupt for decades.
As far as the voting booth, when is Mary Landrieu up for reelection. Her voting base has just been scattered.

ON the news last night a reportere was talking about the rescue workers who were witnessing DEMOCRAPS(looters) literally walking over dead bodies in their homes....to steal their stuff....and the reporter says that the rescue workers said they 'want to be able to shoot the DEMOCRAPS (looters) on the spot, and let justice be done.'
I think that would be a great idea.

At a walking/wading speed of, let's say, 3 mph, those people could easily have walked out of the city by now. They really are a bunch of selfish types that believe they will be looked after by someone else and thay don't have to do a thing for themselvesAnd they would be walking to where .... 2 days and 60 - 70 miles down the road, no food or water ...you're absolutely brilliant doc, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

A white rider van with armed African-Americans pulled up and said "F the police" and they next heard a gun shot.
And their race is relevant how?
--------
Well, to liberals, it does not matter.
But in the real world, to law enforcement, courts, and prosecutors, it is important to clearly identify who is committing a crime. Otherwise, every crime report would be "A person committed a crime, be on the outlook for a person".
Obviously, that does not get the job done in identification.
Surely, you see how silly your point is now.
To: staytrue
two to three months from now there should be some good stories of grandmothers evacuating only to come back to their homes and find that the looters destroyed it...took everything..It will show the Democrats in their best light...

My relatives watched the Weather Channel and other cable news weather--and yes, they grumbled about the local coverage. Their claim: the locals didn't want to rock the "tourist dollar" boat, so kept the forecasts mild.

People live in all kinds of places that at one time or another will require federal emergency aid, and for some, rebuilding. Last night someone posted a long list of such places, and no area of the country was exempt from disaster of one kind or another. That's an absolutely valid point, but there are two major factors here that don't apply to "normal" disasters:
1. At some point, every single person in the city of New Orleans will be evacuated, or will die. This -- in combination with the fact that almost every building in the city has sustained some kind of serious damage -- means that New Orleans will be "starting over" in a way that no other city has ever done.
2. The geographic reality in which New Orleans exists (the changing terrain and sinking ground at the mouth of the Mississippi River) dictates that the long-term viability of the area as a major city will decline over time -- a situation that no other city has really faced.

NO has become Baghdad without the IED's. Just wait. Their IEDs got wet. CAIR is raising charitable donations that will undoubtedly solve that problem.

It was an absurd neocon fantasy to believe that democracy would ever work in a place that had only known decades of corruption and oppression. We should pull out now and leave the natives to establish their own government based along tribal lines.
Sorry, New Orleans is too economically important to do that.
