walking on hot pavement that is perhaps in the 85 degrees with extreme high humidity and no drinking water, along with carrying children, elderly or even worse, sick family members, would make it an impossible journey!

You travel in the evening and early morning as best you can. It will be miserable. People around the world in worse conditions have done it before when it is a matter of survival.
