The situation in New Orleans continues to deteriorate due to rising water levels and desperation. Search and rescue continues via boat and air. Authorities have announced the goal to evacuate all the remaining residents of NOLA. The New Orleans Mayor has reported numerous gas leaks throughout the city. Sporadic fires occurring. Attempts to evacuate hundreds of hospital patients from Charity Hospital and Tulane Medical Center are in process. Patients are being transported to other hospitals as far away as Florida.
The Army Corps of Engineers is at the NOLA levee breaks with current plans to drop 3000 lb sand bags in an effort to stop the flow of water. NOLA hospital evacuations continue for thousands of patients. Reports indicate all evacuees are being taken to the SuperDome, which is now surrounded by water. The generators at the Dome are now in jeopardy. The Governor of Louisiana has called for a day of prayer tomorrow...
Elsewhere, search and rescue continue in Mississippi and Alabama. Biloxi reports indicate catastrophic damage.

I haven't heard of any assessment or rescue efforts there yet. If I spot it(monitoring CNN/FOX/MSNBC), I'll get back to you. : )
No Democrat idiot is gonna take responsibility for this.
It'll be a combination of God's will/force of nature and the Bush Administration (a) ignored us for years and/or (b) is slow to react to this disaster.
By the way that fire reported by CNN is a FOOTLOCKER.
You and I are in complete agreement here.
"No one is helping those people now."
But not here. Did you miss the part of Shepard's show where he showed the National Guard trucks bringing water onto the bridge? And did you miss the video of the convoy full of people moving off the bridge. The people there are getting help. But it is a disaster area, and help will not be instantaneous. But it is coming soon. The fact that that three year old little boy was last shown fully lucid and fidgeting around in his mother's lap indicates that he isn't aware some people have declared he is "obviously dying".
Someone with one of those sports vehicles that look like lawn tractors...I forget what they're called but they're great off road and they'd be good getting supplies in and out of places where the water's not too deep. Or on this ramp. Someone with a case or two of water could just hop on the sports buggy and ride it up there.
The fact that no one is doing that makes me wonder what the hell is going on. Where is the bottleneck? It looks so bad for those same people to be on that ramp without help for two and a half days. They should have been picked up first by the schoolbuses instead of taking a paltry few from the dome. The buses weren't even full as they passed. If the driver had stopped he could have loaded most of the women I saw on the ramp with their kids as he went past.
This is just an utter balls-up because people took money for jobs they either were incapable of fulfilling or had no intention of doing to any degree of competence.
Thanks, maybe this will shut some of these people up.
GARDEN DISTRICT: A New Orleans police officer is seen carrying DVDs at the Wal-Mart on Tchoupitoulas Tuesday. Many police officers said they felt helpless in enforcing the looters, which were found all over the city.
No wonder the Feds are bringing in their own law enforcement
Bishop TD Jakes on FOX right now. The man is talking rationally. WHY do we keep seeing the likes of Jessie Jackson depicted as black leaders? This humble clergyman oozes wisdom!
SATERN:
Report of three trapped in Waveland, MS....2nd story of red bldg.
The time to ask and answer the hard questions is called elections. But yes, we'll be paying for them to take the stand and defend their value.
There is an effort to get those buses to NO.

We have an IMMEDIATE need for all churches with buses, vans, etc. to help evacuate those in the Superdome!!! We have been asked to coordinate efforts to get those in the Superdome out, due to rising water.
If you are able to help with this please contact the Louisiana Baptist Convention, Men's Ministry at 877-487-4658.
One conversation that needs to be had -- but probably won't -- is the nature of the "culture" that spawned this widespread looting.
I don't think the animals at the Audobon Zoo will be "axing" for anyone anytime soon.
Yesterday I went to Costco here in Monterey. When I got back to work I realized I had left a book I purchased in the shopping cart and I was out 9 bucks. For a moment I wondered why such bad things have to happen to me.
Then a little voice in my head asked if I would like to reconsider that question.
**This is just an utter balls-up because people took money for jobs they either were incapable of fulfilling or had no intention of doing to any degree of competence.**
IMO, what you're seeing is the combination of utter political correctness, and LAWSUIT AVOIDANCE!
NO City or state official seems to be able to make even the SIMPLEST of moves without consulting with higher authorities, and from what I've seen in the last few days, "PASS-THE-BUCK-Itis" seems to be in full effect...
10,000 MORE NG troops being deployed to all states affected, per update on Sean.
"Aren't friends actually family at a time like this?"
I suppose so. Thanks for the huggage. ;)
Hannity reporting 10,000 more national guard troops ordered to LA per President. No link yet...
