The situation in New Orleans continues to deteriorate due to rising water levels and desperation. Search and rescue continues via boat and air. Authorities have announced the goal to evacuate all the remaining residents of NOLA. The New Orleans Mayor has reported numerous gas leaks throughout the city. Sporadic fires occurring. Attempts to evacuate hundreds of hospital patients from Charity Hospital and Tulane Medical Center are in process. Patients are being transported to other hospitals as far away as Florida.
The Army Corps of Engineers is at the NOLA levee breaks with current plans to drop 3000 lb sand bags in an effort to stop the flow of water. NOLA hospital evacuations continue for thousands of patients. Reports indicate all evacuees are being taken to the SuperDome, which is now surrounded by water. The generators at the Dome are now in jeopardy. The Governor of Louisiana has called for a day of prayer tomorrow...
Elsewhere, search and rescue continue in Mississippi and Alabama. Biloxi reports indicate catastrophic damage.

"Now that is one guy that I probably could overlook."
...in a heartbeat.
"..Mississippi River levee.."
Realyy - the Mississppi? Oh man. And wait unitl all the rainfall from kentucky and Ohio, etc. makes it down the River.
The most recent military enlistment agreements call for a enlistment period of 8 years. Usually, four to six years are served as active and the rest as inactive but recallable reservists. This is how the SARists who thought they had left the military are probably being dragged back in.
You haven't been listening, have you? The President has been as visible has he needs to be. He is not a glory hound so he'll stay out of the way. The USS Bataan is already in the area.
Yeah, you can look at Gulfport and Biloxi and picture what northern New Orleans would look like now.
OMG...does this mean what I think it does?
Slowly hopefully people will realize what's going. Today just watching the guy tell of his wife who disappeared into eternity because he couldn't hold on any longer. People might think Voodoo
and Harry Potter are neat and all knowing but I know someone out there who doesn't think so. This is not illusion or delusion this is reality.
Sounds like it's rapidly getting out of control. I wonder if FEMA can even really do much.
ooops, that was post #1453
A local official tells an ABC News affiliate in Baton Rouge, La., that inmates at Orleans Parish Prison are rioting and have taken hostages -- including children -- using homemade weapons.
http://abcnews.go.com/
LOL!
Mercy killing. No way to move it...it was going to slowly starve/dehydrate.
3000 NG in Memphis are being mobilized to come down to patrol, per reporter on WDSU just a minute ago.
I've been thinking of it too, "Esacape from NY."
well ya done it now. :)
But seriously...
If there is a news blackout, it will be because the levees have totally gone. Keep hearing that the levees are getting in worse shape.
What I just heard on WWL said they are trying to rescue everyone they can but they cannot tell the beginning and end of the Mississippi River right now because of all the holes and breeches.
If that is true, they have to blow out the gulf levies.
You are being overdramatic, and though you are basically right, the pols don't dare do this.
"that inmates at Orleans Parish Prison are rioting and have taken hostages -- including children.."
SOB's.
i think the governor is too busy crying to be of much help at this point....someone else needs to step in, danged if i know who
